Greetings! How is your family? This exchange of pleasantries has become a norm in many societies, while in some cultures, they would go further to ask about the person's business, properties and livestock (if any) as part of family, hence, the need to address the topic above . Before we proceed, we will briefly explain the word 'family' we will also look into the traditional family and how it has changed overtime to become the now modern family we see today.
What is family? In simple words, family is a group of people related by blood, adoption, or marriage. In traditional families,

it consist of parents, children, uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, and even grandparents. All or some these live together or closely apart as kindred or community. In modern families today, this arrangement is obtainable.
In modern families, we find the couple living together in a home.

In order cases, we find the mother, father, and their children under adulthood living together which is known as the nuclear family. It is observed that the introduction of modern families started some 200 years ago and has experienced rapid changes overtime. These changes include whether or not the kids would stay with parents until adulthood, how many children will make up a family, whether or not the parents would work outside home, whether or not the kids would attend institutions of higher learning depending on parent's financial status. There are some differences aand similarities they share. For example, in traditional family, giving respect is emphasized. Parents and grandparents are given much respect than they do in modern family. Also, in traditional families, rules are strictly abided by, children has no right to question why some rules are set, they just fo not break them out of flimsy excuses. Also in traditional families, they cooperate and support each other, to they are united. They share common goal and work towards achieving it.
It is in modern families that we find:
Blended family; this a type of family that includes the father, the mother, the children they made out of the marriage and the children they made out of their previous relationships .
Same sex family: this type of family consists of homosexuals either in gays or lesbians couples living together with their children Step family:
Step family is a type of of modern family that is formed from divorced, widowed, or remarried person with kids.
Single-parent family: this occurs when only one parent is taking responsibilities of children. That is when only the mother or. Only the father is with their kids.
Childless family: this type of family occurs when a couple living together decide not to have babies or when a couple can't have babies or they are trying to have babies but are not successful yet.
