I bid farewell to the year with my family in Bogota.
When we traveled there, the city was collapsed because of the date but we still managed to get there despite the time it took us. We prepared our traditional Venezuelan dinner. Hallacas, which has the following ingredients: Precooked corn flour or ground corn, chicken or chicken broth, Onoto, stew of beef, pork and chicken or hen. In each state of Venezuela they make it according to their own taste. A delicious bread stuffed with ham, olives and raisins. Also a chicken salad and lasagna. My sister-in-law added some barbecued ribs to the dinner. It was a pretty heavy dinner but we still enjoyed it.
Despedí el año con mi familia en Bogotá. Cuando viajamos, la ciudad estaba colapsada por la fecha pero igual logramos llegar a pesar del tiempo que nos tomó. Preparamos nuestra tradicional cena venezolana. Hallacas, que tiene los siguientes ingredientes: Harina de maíz precocida o maíz molido, caldo de gallina o pollo, Onoto, guiso de carne de res, cerdo y gallina o pollo. En cada estado de Venezuela lo hacen a su gusto. Un delicioso pan relleno de jamón con aceitunas y pasas. También una ensalada de pollo y lasaña. Mi cuñada añadió a la cena unas costillas a la barbacoa. Fue una cena bastante pesada pero aun así la disfrutamos.
We spent the evening listening to music and remembering wonderful times, made video calls with our family members and then went to sleep. 2024 was a year of much learning and I am grateful for the diversity and joyful moments, I hope this new year fills us all with much abundance, health and wisdom.
