Life. To stop fighting it and start living the paradise announced in so many stories. To leave a space full of love and to make of the absence every time the opportunity for a story, to remember the shared time. Life and its cycle, this time did its part with the wonder woman of the family, with the tireless fighter of impossible battles, with the most special sister, cousin, aunt, MOTHER and grandmother of all. To me, the most accommodating and strongest woman I had the pleasure of knowing. The living example of strength.
In those last days of anguish, I said at some point that "If this is the price to pay for merit to courage and fortitude, I don't want it. I give it up." But I would say that I already won it, that we already won it and that after all these years, it was awarded to us with honors. And she, in particular, took the wreath with flowers.
This is now the banner of our walk. The strength to continue a life with your presence in other ways, to find your embrace in that which was as much yours as the knitting yarn and the needles, or in the chicken and broccoli pie that was so divine, like everything you made. We will miss your words, your hug, your care, your advice, your love, your gestures, your laughter... in so many things and moments, but we will try to keep you alive in every possible way, to find your smile and your warmth in the simple things, among ourselves.
I think what you longed for most was for us to stay close, all together, caring for each other, holding hands, being happy.I am sure we will do it and we will fulfill, as in life, the most cherished desires of your heart.

I love you, grandma.
La vida. Dejar de batallarla y comenzar a vivir el paraíso anunciado en tantas historias. Dejar un espacio lleno de amor y hacer de la ausencia cada vez la oportunidad para un cuento, para rememorar el tiempo compartido. La vida y su ciclo, ésta vez hizo su parte con la mujer maravilla de la familia, con la luchadora incansable de las batallas imposibles, con la hermana, prima, tía, MADRE y abuela más especial de todas. Para mí, la mujer más complaciente y fuerte que tuve el placer de conocer. El vivo ejemplo de la fortaleza.
En esos últimos días de angustia, dije en algún momento que “Si éste es el precio que hay que pagar por el mérito a la valentía y fortaleza, no lo quiero. Desisto de él”. Pero diría que ya lo gané, que ya ganamos y que luego de todos estos años, nos fue concedido con honores. Y ella, en particular, se llevó la corona con flores.
Es ahora este el estandarte de nuestro andar. La fortaleza para seguir una vida con tu presencia de otras maneras, para encontrar tu abrazo en aquello que era tan tuyo como los hilos de tejer y las agujas, o en el pastel de pollo con brócoli que te quedaba tan divino, como todo lo que hacías. Harán falta tus palabras, tu abrazo, tu cuidado, tu consejo, tu cariño, tus gestos, tu risa… en tantas cosas y momentos pero te mantendremos viva de todas las formas posibles, encontraremos tu sonrisa y tu calor en lo sencillo, entre nosotros mismos.
Creo que lo que más anhelabas eras que nos mantuviéramos cerca, todos juntos, cuidándonos, dándonos la mano, siendo felices. Estoy segura que lo haremos y cumpliremos, como en vida, los deseos más guardados de tu corazón.
