Well, the very first week of school is already over, and happy and less tense, in a sense, I feel. It has been a long, long time since the opening of school, and I was surely more than ready to get back into action. My Erikson family has thus far made this experience incredible. My first week was surely something extraordinary, and I'm excited to share it all with you.
Day 1: The First Day
I was a little nervous on the very first day like most students are. New year, new teachers and new experiences always bring some thrill and a little bit of nervousness. But as soon as I entered school and viewed my classmates, I felt as if home. There were so many familiar faces, and it was great to catch up with friends.
I began the day with a general assembly in which we met teachers and talked about some school rules. It didn't take too long before we felt belonging. The Erikson family, now part of me, welcomed us warmly. They were all friendly and had that air of positive energy, which was infectious.
Our teachers introduced themselves and told us what to expect in their classes. I couldn't help but feel exhilarated about the subjects we were going to undertake since learning something new always thrills me. School corridors resonate with gaiety, chirp, and a kind of invigorating noise that characterizes the beginning of any term.
Day 2: Getting to Know My Erikson Family
The second day started getting a bit more serious. Our teachers entered into lessons, and we began to get accustomed to our routines. The excitement here included fun facts about each other. It was so impressive to learn new things about my classmates, the things that excited each of them, and stories about their summer breaks.
The best part of this day is that it does not aim to only focus on academics. The teachers saw that I, and other students, felt comfortable because, as much as we would learn to grow as individuals, I also grew as a group. There were team-building games that were hilarious, making the bonding process even more real. I felt closer to my Erikson family after that, and I knew this school year was going to be special.
Day 3: First Group Projects
By the third day, we were already diving into group projects. I was teamed up with some of my classmates to work on our first project of the year. Working with some of my classmates, and it's just so much fun. I see how well we can be as a team. All of us had our different strengths, and it was cool to see what ideas came together.
This was not a project to be done, but learning how to communicate effectively, share ideas, and grow by working together. It made me realize how much we would all grow throughout the year by working with each other. It was one of the first moments where I felt the spirit of the Erikson family group of people who lift each other.
Day 4: Fun and Laughter
The fourth day was marked by laughter and fun as it represented a series of games testing our knowledge, creativity, and teamwork. It was great fun breaking off all the usual lessons to do something both educational and enjoyable.
There was friendly competitiveness where we all wanted to win; it did not matter when someone won or lost, it was enjoyable. These moments remind me why I love school. It's not about the books, but the memories that we will have along the way. I walked out of that school with a big smile on my face, already counting on when the next would take place.
Day 5: Week Reflection
On the fifth day, we had some time to reflect on the week, sharing our experiences with the class. It was heart-warming to hear how everybody felt. Most of us mentioned how grateful they are to be part of the Erikson family, like how quickly they made us feel at home.
Our teachers reminded us that this was the beginning of so much more ahead of us. They challenged us to keep on working together, encouraged us to support each other in every possible way, and continued the values of teamwork, kindness, and respect that characterize our lives.
I couldn't help but feel proud to be part of this school. We have learned a lot in just one week and even got closer to other classmates. Not to mention we had a great time playing. It was the perfect start to the school year.
My Thoughts on the Week
I have been feeling that the first week has been very filled with moments of learning, laughter, and new experiences. Though the lessons were very informative, I have learned much more about people. The Erikson family welcomed me with open arms, and I sense that we are going to have a fantastic year.
What caught my attention most was how much each one supported the rest. From group projects to games and just casual conversations, that sense of community made me never feel I was ever alone as we were each other's. That is what I love so much in the Erikson family- being able to see that we are, indeed, looking after one another.
This week also reminded me to enjoy the journey. Yes, school is about learning and working hard, but then school is also about fun and memories. These fun activities, group work, and time with friends showed that school isn't just a room in which one studies; it's a place where people grow, lifelong friendships are forged, and most amazing moments are born.
Looking to the Year Ahead
This was such an awesome first week, and I look forward to what this full year of school has in store for me. I am excited to learn more projects, and new things, and continue to build strong relationship ties with my Erikson family. Well, there will be such struggles ahead, but I do know that my class and teachers will support me through all of them.
This is an amazing start to what I'm certain will turn out to be a very enjoyable, rewarding, and unforgettable school year. More learning, laughter, and growth with my Erikson family!
