Yo siempre había tenido el sueño de ayudar a otras personas de alguna manera y ahora lo hago de distintas formas, comenzando desde mi trabajo donde difundimos las problemáticas de las comunidades, les damos voz para que las personas cuenten sus problemáticas, ante los desastres ejercemos presión a las autoridades, entre otras ventajas que te da el ser comunicador social.
Aunque sentía que hacía falta un poco más, que podía ayudar de manera más cercana a las personas y desde hace poco más de dos meses junto a un grupo de amigos lo comenzamos a hacer.
Todo comenzó un 14 de septiembre, día en el que se celebraba la fecha de fundación de mi ciudad, por ende no se trabajaba y había más oportunidades de salir a hacer algo distinto y eso fue lo que hicimos.
Junto a un grupo pequeño de amigos (6 personas) salimos a repartir arepas en distintos lugares de la ciudad, en esa oportunidad fuimos específicamente a una casa hogar de abuelos, luego a un centro de retención judicial y finalizamos en una casa hogar de niños y niñas.
Las sensaciones en ese momento fueron de qué podíamos hacer más. Teníamos ese gusto de ver que con la ayuda de distintas personas (porque algunos no estuvieron repartiendo arepas pero sí apoyaron con alguna cosita) pudimos hacer algo muy bonito.
En ese momento me propuse participar en par de actividades más antes de que finalizara el año y la segunda fue el 16 de octubre cuando visitamos nuevamente la casa hogar de abuelos Los Peregrinos, donde fuimos ahora un grupo más grande de amigos a compartir con las personas de este espacio de encuentro.
Cabe resaltar que lo hacemos sin estar bajo ninguna organización, asociación o institución, simplemente informal. Amigos con la iniciativa de ayudar a otras personas.
Para aquella actividad conformamos grupos para hacer una colecta de alimentos, insumos, entre otras cosas y nos impresionamos en la cantidad de comida que pudimos conseguir gracias al apoyo de nuestra familia extendida (amigos), quienes aportaron un poco desde sus posibilidades a esta bonita labor que decidimos emprender.
Aquel día compartimos con los abuelitos, cantamos cumpleaños, ya que mi mejor amiga cumplía al siguiente día, y pasamos un día diferente con todas estas personas mayores.
Desde aquella fecha no había participado en otra actividad hasta este pasado domingo donde regresamos a la casa hogar de niños y niñas que tiene por nombre Fortunato Orellana, espacio donde albergan a cerca de 20 niños.
En esta ocasión nos unimos con una amiga que estaba haciendo servicio comunitario por su universidad en ese lugar y para finalizar el proyecto nos invitó a hacer distintas actividades recreativas con los niños, regalarles algunas cosas y más allá de eso, compartir con los más pequeños de ese espacio.
Nos fuimos con el corazón feliz al ver la emoción de los niños, quienes de alguna manera agradecieron todo, aunque ni hacía falta, con el simple hecho de ver una sonrisa en sus rostros ya nos dábamos por complacidos. Fue un día grandioso.
Y para finalizar el año con otra actividad de este tipo, este próximo domingo regresaremos a la casa hogar de los abuelos para hacer un mega compartir con ellos, donde llevaremos alimentos, ropa, insumos, entre otras cosas, así como haremos el tradicional plato navideño para comer junto a ellos en esta fecha tan especial.
He comprendido que la vida se trata de eso, devolver un poco de todo lo bueno que obtienes a otras personas que la puedan necesitar, desde un abrazo, pasando por un consejo, un bocado de comida, dinero… cada uno tiene algo para compartir con el prójimo, solo debemos abrir nuestro corazón para percibirlo.
Helping others, a beautiful job
I had always had the dream of helping other people in some way and now I do it in different ways, starting from my work where we spread the problems of the communities, we give them a voice so that people can tell their problems, in case of disasters we put pressure on the authorities, among other advantages that being a social communicator gives you.
Although I felt that a little more was needed, that I could help people in a closer way and since a little more than two months ago, together with a group of friends, we started to do it.
It all started on September 14th, a day that celebrated the founding date of my city, so there was no work and there were more opportunities to go out and do something different and that's what we did.
Together with a small group of friends (6 people) we went out to spread arepas in different places of the city, in that opportunity we went specifically to a grandparents' home, then to a judicial detention center and we finished in a children's home.
The feeling at that moment was that we could do more. We had the pleasure of seeing that with the help of different people (because some of them were not handing out arepas but they did support us with a little something) we were able to do something very nice.
At that time I decided to participate in a couple more activities before the end of the year and the second one was on October 16 when we visited again the Grandparents' home Los Peregrinos, where we were now a larger group of friends to share with the people of this meeting place.
It should be noted that we do this without being under any organization, association or institution, just informal. **Friends with the initiative to help other people.
For that activity we formed groups to collect food, supplies, among other things, and we were impressed by the amount of food we were able to get thanks to the support of our extended family (friends), who contributed a little from their possibilities to this beautiful work we decided to undertake.
That day we shared with the grandparents, we sang birthdays, since my best friend had her birthday the next day, and we spent a different day with all these elderly people.
Since that date I had not participated in another activity until this past Sunday where we **returned to the children's home ** which is called Fortunato Orellana, a space where they house about 20 children.
On this occasion we teamed up with a friend who was doing community service for her university in that place and to finalize the project she invited us to do different recreational activities with the children, give them some gifts and beyond that, share with the little ones in that space.
We left with a happy heart when we saw the excitement of the children, who somehow thanked us for everything, although it was not necessary, just by seeing a smile on their faces we were already pleased. It was a great day.
And to end the year with another activity of this type, this coming Sunday we will return to the grandparents' home to make a mega-sharing with them, where we will bring food, clothes, supplies, among other things, as well as make the traditional Christmas dish to eat with them on this special date.
I have understood that this is what life is all about, giving back a little bit of everything good you get to other people who may need it, from a hug, to advice, a bite of food, money... everyone has something to share with others, we just need to open our heart to perceive it.

Hace unos cuantos años atrás hacia este tipo de actividades en casa hogar y no hay comparación con la sensación que te llevas al salir de ahí.
