Quisiera compartir lo que viví el día del padre con mi papá, no hablar de lo mismo, sino de ese momento tan especial. Sé que el día de las madres, de los padres, de los niños, etc., son todos los días, pero siempre hay que aprovechar los momentos que se presenten para compartir con ellos, yo tenía un año que no veía a mi papá, la última vez que nos vimos el vino a visitarme, pero por esto de la pandemia y los problemas de gasolina, no había podido ir para allá, por eso quise aprovechar el día del padre para darle la sorpresa de llegarle en familia y ¡vaya! Que fue una sorpresa, un día especial no solo para él sino para todos nosotros como familia.

La emoción de mi papá era muy grande, verme a mí, a sus nietos y a su biznieto, nos mostró todo lo que ha podido sembrar, sus plantas, las flores que se llaman Dama de medianoche, quería que me quedara a dormir allá para que viera como cerraban las flores en la noche y volvían a abrir en la mañana. También me mostró el trabajo que ellos hacen, cortan el monte ellos mismos, siembran hortalizas y plantas frutales, hacen todo esto para mantenerse saludable y vivos, dicen que es como un ejercicio físico y mental que les mantiene saludables, entretenidos en lo que les gusta, alejados de las cosas que no les da felicidad.

Mi papá nos contaban que tiene una vejez feliz, nos hablaba ese día que le pasó por muchas cosas, buenas y malas, que agradece a Dios por todo lo que ha vivido pero también por la vida que lleva actualmente, tranquilo, haciendo lo que le gusta, que a pesar de la edad que tiene se siente útil y puede valerse por sí mismo todavía, gozando de salud que es lo importante.

Yo lo escuchaba y me causaba ternura escucharlo, ahora que soy adulta uno sabe lo es ellos han pasado y nos protegieron cuando éramos pequeños, yo ahora siento que como hijos nos toca protegerlos, cuidarlos, ayudarlos en lo que uno pueda en los años que les queda, pero sobre todo escucharles, que es lo que les encanta, estar pendiente de ellos, que se sientan amados. Ese día yo veía tan feliz a mi padre, me deleitaba verlo como se emocionaba como un niño feliz, mostrándome todo lo que ha hecho y lo que quiere ser, de verdad que me sentí muy feliz hacerle pasar una tarde muy agradable.

Almorzamos un rico arroz chino al estilo venezolano, le llevamos marquesas, quesillos. Ya en la tardecita fuimos a un restaurante para celebrar el día del padre, y como que los padres se están portando bien, porque el restaurante estaba full ja, ja, ja. Cuando estaba en el restaurante podía observar tantas familias compartiendo, se notaba la alegría en cada persona que ahí había y pensaba en silencio: ¿por qué estas cosas se buscan solo hacer una vez al año, celebrando un día comercial? Sé que no todo el tiempo hay dinero para salir a comer a un restaurante, pero si podemos buscar cada día hacerles feliz, demostrarles amor, no sólo ese día sino siempre, ¡cuán diferente sería la vida de ellos en su ancianidad si todos pensáramos así! No esperemos el último momento para llorar les cuando ya no estén.

Hola @carolinacardoza, quedé gratamente sorprendida al ver el restaurant full de padrecitos felices. Quisiera hacer mucho más por mi padre, me encanta verlo sonreír. Ahora a esperar hasta septiembre para celebrar su cumpleaños; Dios lo permita.
