Good day Hivers! Had my usual weekend routine, rising early, preparing breakfast, taking a bath, and opening our mini grocery store which I'm taking charge of. I'm on maternity leave, due to a miscarriage that happened last February 22, to be specific. I'm trying to get over it, and making fun of myself.
This weekend turned out to be a special one, we had an invitation from our cousin to celebrate the birthday of her friend Lucy. We feel special. We were all invited to go to the beach where it will be celebrated. Together with my children and my husband, we gladly accepted the invitation. It is at Paypay, Daanbantayan, Cebu. They opted to spend it at the beach so we could have great fun and privacy. The beach setting is pretty cool and relaxing.
It was a one hour travel from home. Upon our arrival, we have seen the enticing scene of the beach that is gradually developed. The nipa huts which are used to be the perfect spot for relaxation were repaired and was now even more beautiful. One of these has been decorated well so the birthday celebrant who is an American, will be astonished by how Filipinos celebrated birthdays. We usually did it lavishly.
There was a tent placed under the trees. It means that they were staying here at night. The beds that were made from bamboo were arranged well, and for those who loved to rest, can definitely use them.
The table was set well, various kinds of foods were displayed and will be shared for lunch. There were foods from the farm that our relatives brought to share. These are all delicious and nutritious. We are also used to having finger foods on the table that are fun to munch on while waiting for lunch.
The lechon baboy (roasted pig) was mouthwatering and the most awaited biggest dish on this lunch. It made the celebration more meaningful. Delicious Filipino foods are the best for me and in occassion like this, this is always present.
Friends and relatives from Manila, and Cebu come here to be with this special occasion. And while waiting for lunch, I was having fun strolling the whole beach resort owned by my aunt. This is the best spot for me. The leaves of the trees serve as the amazing canopy that are so cool to stay with. It so wonderful to be here.
It has a wide space where we can park our vehicles. For future sustainability, they have planted more trees and coconuts that are truly substantial to our ecosystem. The beach is well-cleaned, there were no trashes seen around.
I love the white sand, it so fine that is why this is usually visited by families and friends. Another thing that is amazing about this beach the cool surrounding due to the trees that have fully grown and were properly taken care of.
Another best practice of our family is the giving of value to the oldies. We never send our grandparents who are old too old to the home for the aged. We are taking care of them no matter what will happen. And during special gatherings, they are always present as they love outing especially in the beach where magic happens.
This celebration was more memorable as for the first time, Lucy was able to witness the Filipino culture that made us unique and different. This may not be the best, however she have witnessed how we cooperated with another for the success of her natal day. It was reflected on her face how happy happy she was.
We have eaten our lunch happily and everybody was full and satisfied. It was indeed a happy birthday.
