Hoy me gustaría recordar el lindo día que pasamos en Sanare, un pueblo precioso ubicado en el estado Lara, Venezuela.
No era nuestra primera vez visitando Altos de Veracruz, pero lo que hizo especial este viaje fue el motivo: compartir con María Laura. Hace varios años que ella se fue a vivir a Chile y esta era su primera visita en mucho tiempo.
Today I'd like to remember the wonderful day we spent in Sanare, a precious town located in Lara state, Venezuela.
This wasn't our first time visiting Altos de Veracruz, but what made special this trip was to share with María Laura. She moved to Chile some years ago and this was her first visit in a long time.

Pocos días antes de su partida nos pusimos de acuerdo para ir todas a disfrutar de una tarde diferente. Por un momento pensé que no podríamos por los problemas de gasolina que hay en el país, pero al final si se logró. El día estuvo espectacular, sólo fuimos a almorzar y encontramos excusas para alargar nuestra visita.
A few days before her leaving we all agreed to go and enjoy a different evening. For a moment I thought we wouldn't be able to because of the gasoline problems in our country, but we made it. The day was spectacular, we only went for lunch and found excuses to extend our visit.
La comida estuvo divina, nos costó decidir qué pedir así que acordamos probar un poco del plato de todos. Acompañamos nuestras comidas con un jugo de parchita y el postre lo dejamos para más tarde.
The food was divine, we had a hard time deciding what to order, so we agreed to try a little bit of everyone's plate. We accompanied our meals with a passion fruit juice and left the dessert for later.
Después de comer tomamos un tiempo para recorrer las instalaciones y las áreas verdes del lugar. Un espectáculo, si me lo preguntan. La tranquilidad que se respira en ese sitio, el clima fresco y la buena atención se hicieron presentes en todo momento. Se podía escuchar el canto de las aves, veíamos abejitas rondando las flores, incluso los insectos eran adorables. No queríamos irnos.
After lunch we took some time to walk around the facilities and the green areas of the place. A spectacle, if you ask me. The tranquility of the place, the fresh climate and the good service were present at all times. You could hear the birds singing, saw little bees hovering around the flowers, even the insects were adorable. We didn't want to leave.

Mi sobrina Paula se divirtió corriendo por todos lados y curioseando cuanta cosa nueva veía. Entramos a una pequeña tienda donde venden artesanías, todos los artículos que encontramos eran característicos del folclore larense, coloridos y llenos de vida. Mientras tanto Paula encontró un piano y no dudó en tocarlo, yo le seguí.
Paula, my niece, had fun running around and snooping everything she saw. We walked into a small store where they sell handicrafts, all the items we found were characteristic of Lara's folklore, colorful and full of life. Meanwhile Paula found a piano and didn't hesitate to play it, I followed her.

Por otro lado, los adultos, encontramos otras formas de entretenernos: el vino. Pasamos la tarde entre copas conversando y escuchando todo lo nuevo que tenía María Laura para contarnos. Nos reímos y tomamos fotos hasta que una botella se nos quedó corta y pasamos a la siguiente.
On the other hand, we adults found other ways to entertain ourselves: wine. We spent the afternoon between glasses chatting and listening to all the new things María Laura had to tell us. We laughed and took pictures until one bottle ran out and we moved on to the next.

A media tarde decidimos irnos, para evitar manejar de noche, debido a que nos queda aproximadamente a dos horas de donde vivimos. Recorrer las montañas de regreso a casa con el atardecer a nuestro lado fue una maravilla, Lara se destaca por ello, el crepúsculo de sus atardeceres es inigualable en Venezuela.
We decided to leave early, to avoid driving at night, as we live about two hours from the site. Driving through the mountains on our way back home with the sunset by our side was a marvel, Lara stands out for it, the twilight of its sunsets is unmatched in Venezuela.

Disfrutamos de nuestro regreso fotografiando la vía y comiéndonos el postre. Un dulcito de paleta divino que tanto extrañó Malala mientras estuvo fuera de casa. Este dulce fue creado en Carora, Lara y consiste en la mezcla de leche condensada y leche evaporada (entre otros ingredientes) formando una especie de dulce de leche solido, cubierto de merengue italiano con ralladura de limón, está entre mis dulces favoritos!
We enjoyed our way back, taking pictures and eating dessert. A divine Paleta sweet that Malala missed so much while she was away from home. This sweet was created in Carora, Lara and consists of a mixture of condensed milk and evaporated milk (among other ingredients) forming a kind of solid dulce de leche, covered with Italian meringue and lemon zest, it is among my favorite sweets!

En vano regresamos temprano porque igualmente nos agarró la noche en la carretera, la poca iluminación causó algunos momentos tensos pero por fortuna todo salió bien.
Fue un día familiar, diferente y tranquilo. La despedida ideal para María Laura, quien en pocos días estaría de regreso a Chile. Nosotros desde acá seguimos extrañándola, deseándole siempre lo mejor, esperándola con los brazos abiertos y planificando cuál será el próximo destino.
In vain we returned early because the night also caught us on the road, the poor lighting caused some tense moments but fortunately everything went well.
It was a family day, different and peaceful. The ideal farewell for Maria Laura, who in a few days would be back in Chile. We from here continue to miss her, always wishing her the best, waiting for her with open arms and planning what will be the next destination.
