Hello lovers of nature and a Life + Green, the rains came and with them the planting times and that includes giving life to our gardens, three weeks ago we ventured into planting grass with seeds, this was the first time we did it and we really were not so confident in the outcome because the doubt loa comments from other users were not the most positive and yet we did it.

We have more than 400 mst2 to sow grass and when looking for quotes for rolls, we realized that the costs were really exaggerated for the amount we need to cover, so I decided to look for the option of seeds. I managed to find in a nursery near us the Scotts brand bermudagrass seeds to cover 92 mst 2.
We had never sown grass with seeds, so I started to watch many YouTube tutorials where I saw several tips to prepare the soil, but most were from countries with 4 seasons in the case of Venezuela we only have two, the time of drought that lasts from January to April and then the rainy season from May to December.
Our climate is very favorable and taken the best we started the process to prepare the land. We started in the front area where we will build our Container House the Hogar Verde with a small area to learn the process.
Sowing Grass with Seeds
What we need
Grass seeds.
Fertile Soil if needed, if it's homemade compost, I recently did a post on Compost at Home and I'll leave the link if you want to learn more.
- Tools, spade or pickaxe, shovel, rake, gloves.

Cleaning the Terrain:
The first step to achieve a good result is to clean the land of weeds or previous grass if you want to replace it, in our case that was easy since we had no grass and had grown very little weeds.
Prepare the soil:
This area has a combination of clay and sandy soil, there are many stones in it and this makes the work a little difficult and here we had a little more work, we removed the soil and took out all the stones that we could, especially the larger ones, then we placed fertile soil to improve it, along with cow manure and mixed a little and it was ready for planting.
The Sowing:
Now we had doubts about the quantities, so we began to water the seed to the eye manually, at the beginning I thought that we exaggerated a little but to see its growth and that the ants took several of those that were uncovered I believe that it was well, it still lacks growth I believe that 2 months we will really know the result.
Watering:
Each brand of seed gives its recommendation, the most common is watering 2 times a day for the first 15 days and then 1 times a day or during the night in the first month, the benefit of being in a tropical country and in a rainforest, saves us many of these irrigations because if it does not rain every night the water condenses in the form of nebrina and the dew helps with its humidity.
To the 15 days we made a second test but on the clay soil, that we only cleaned and we sowed directly to these seeds it cost them but to grow in spite of the days have had more rain, but there the sprouts are seen, we will see later the result.
I personally like this bermuda grass a lot because it is a thinner grass, here we usually use the more rustic San Agustin grass. I love to throw myself on the grass, to be in contact with the earth and to have that relaxing sensation in my feet when I walk or feel it between my hands.
I hope that my experience will be useful and that you will also dare to try it and I think that in another month I will be able to jump on the grass and maybe in two months I will be able to share a yoga or meditation class with friends on it.

Sembrando Grama con Semillas ESP 🌱
Hola amantes de la naturaleza y de una Vida + Verde, llegaron las lluvias y con ellas los tiempos de siembra y eso incluye darle vida a nuestro jardines, hace tres semanas nos aventuramos en sembrar grama con semillas, esta era la primera vez que lo haciamos y realmente no estábamos tan confiados en el resultado pues la duda de loa comentarios de otros usuarios no eran las mas positivas y aun así lo hicimos.

Tenemos mas de 400 mst2 para sembrar grama y al buscar los presupuestos por rollos, nos dimos cuenta que los costos eran realmente exagerados para la cantidad que necesitamos cubrir, por lo que decídi buscar la opción de las semillas. Logre encontrar en un vivero cercano a nosotros las semillas grama bermuda de la marca Scotts para cubrir 92 mst 2.
Jamas sembrado habiamos sembrado grama con semillas, así que me puse a ver muchos tútoriales por YouTube donde vi varios tips para prepara la tierra , pero la mayoria eran de países con 4 estaciones en el caso de Venezuela solo tenemos dos, el tiempo de sequía que dura de enero a abril y luego los tiempos de lluvia de mayo a diciembre.
Nuestro clima es muy favorable y tomado lo mejor iniciamos el proceso para preparar la tierra. Iniciamos en la zona del frente donde construiremos nuestra Casa Container el Hogar Verde con un area pequeña para aprender del proceso.
Sembrando grama con Semillas
Lo necesario
Las semillas de grama.
Tierra Fértil si es necesario, si es compost hecho por ustedes mejor hace poco hice una publicación de Compost en Casa dejo el link por si quieren aprender mas.
- Herramientas, escardilla o pico, pala, rastrillo, guantes.

Limpiar el Terreno:
El primer paso para lograr un buen resultado es limpiar el terreno de malas hierbas o grama anterior si quieres reemplazarla, en nuestro caso esa fue fácil ya que no teniamos grama y había crecido muy poca maleza.
Preparamos la tierra:
Esta area tiene una combinación entre tierra de arcilla y arenosa, hay muchas piedras en ella y esto dificulta un poco el trabajo y aquí si nos dio un poco mas de trabajo, removimos la tierra y sacamos todas las piedras que pudimos sobre todo las mas grandes.Luego colocamos tierra fértil para mejorarla, junto a estiercol de vaca y mezclamos un poco y estaba listo para la siembra.
La Siembra:
Ahora téniamos las dudas sobre las cantidades , así que empezamos a regar la semilla al ojo manualmente, al inicio pensé que exageramos un poco pero al ver su crecimiento y que las hormigas se llevaron varias de las que quedaron al descubierto creo que estuvo bien, aun le falta crecimiento creo queen 2 meses sabremos realmente el resultado.
El Riego:
Cada marca de semilla da sus recomendación, lo mas común es el riego 2 veces al día durante los primeros 15 días y luego 1 veces al día o durante la noche en el primer mes, el beneficio de estar en un país tropical y en un bosque húmedo , nos ahorra muchos de esos riegos ya que si no llueve igual cada noche se llega el agua condensa en forma de nebrina y el rocío ayuda con su humedad.
A los 15 días realizamos una segunda prueba pero sobre la tierra arcillosa, que solo limpiamos y sembramos directamente a estas semillas les a costado mas crecer a pesar de que los días han tenido mas lluvia, pero allí se ven los brotes , ya veremos mas adelante el resultado.
Este grama bermuda en lo personal me gusta mucho porque es una grama mas delgada aquí se suele usar mas la grama san agustin que es mas rústica. Me encanta lanzarme sobre la grama, estar en contacto con la tierra y tener esa sensación tan relajante en los pies al caminar des calza al caminar o sentirla entre mis manos.
Espero que mi experiencia les sea util y ustedes también se atrevan a intentarlo y creo que en un mes mas podré tirarme sobre la grama y tal vez en dos compatir un clase de yoga o meditación con amigos en ella.
