Divine Authority

Jesus demonstrated on earth that he was God and that he had authority over all created things and that no one could interpose before his sovereignty because he was the owner of the entire universe.

Mateo 21
21 As they approached Jerusalem and reached Bethphage, on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples 2 with this commission: “Go to the village in front of you, and right there you will find a tied donkey and a donkey with it. Untie them and bring them to me. 3 If someone says something to you, answer that the Lord needs you, but that he will give you back.
4 This happened to fulfill what the prophet had said:
5 «Say to the daughter of Zion:
"Look, your king is coming to you,
humble and riding on a donkey,
on a little donkey, the rearing of a beast of burden ”». [a]
6 The disciples went and did as Jesus had commanded them...

During the last week of his ministry Jesus deliberately fulfilled the messianic prophecies, for example the triumphal entry of Jerusalem that took place on the Sunday before the crucifixion constituted the staging of a parable a dynamic way through which Jesus proclaimed his condition as Messiah. He represented thectedmation of the prophecy of Zechariah 9.9 down to the smallest detail.
Also with this prophecy Jesus was demonstrating that he had authority over all created things.

The subjects of a king pay homage to him by placing carpets for him to walk or walk on, demonstrating that he is the only king and kings of lords.

Those present praised his majesty with the word "hosanna" which means "save" this was more than a shout of acclamation, it was equivalent to the request of an oppressed people addressed to their savior so that he would give them freedom. Later it became totally an exclamation of praise therefore people were publicly acknowledging Jesus as the Messiah the savior of the world.

And really that is what Jesus is, the owner and savior of the world, he gives freedom to the captive and has all authority in the visible and invisible.

God longs for humanity to acknowledge his majesty for how comforting this must have been to Jesus as he began his march to the cross!
