UNDERSTANDING THE WORDS 'CHRISTIANS AND BORN - AGAIN'

"Then Agrippa said to Paul, you almost persuade me to become a Christian."

The worst thing to happen to anybody is to be known by a confused identity.

Our names, faces, heights, skin colour, race, sizes, achievements, etc., are not always true indicators when it comes to identifying our spiritual personality.

Being Born-again is the spiritual birthing process of becoming a Christian. We are not that process, we are not meant to remain in that formative process but to become like Christ. Those that are like Christ are called christians in the Bible not Born - Again.

"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." -
Jn. 1:12 - 13 (NKJV)

"Jesus answered and said unto him, verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God...and that which is born of the spirit is spirit." - Jn. 3:3 - 6.

To be Born-again is just an event in our spiritual destiny, just like wedding is an event in our marital journey and destiny. These events are not our identities but indicators to the reality of our pathways and development. After wedding the couple becomes married man or woman and not wedded man or woman.

To be Born-again is a means to an end and not an end in itself. The term "Born-again Christian" is a spiritual tautology, just like anyone that claim to be a Christian without being born-again is a contradiction. We are either a Christian or not a Christian. Our new birth in Christ and our identity as christians need no prefixes for confirmation.

"Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are His. And let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity." - 2 Tim. 2:19.

It will interest you to know that in university every lecturer is a graduate and they do not use graduate Dr., or graduate Prof. Consequently, every genuine christian is born-again and doesn't need the born-again toga for any form of Identification and confirmation.

"You will know them by their fruits...Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit." - Matt. 7:16 - 18.

The greatest error is the misleading impression displayed by the self-acclaimed "Born-again christians" in our pentecostal churches that they are the only approved of God. But there are other genuine Christians that are born-again in Catholic and Orthodox churches with tangible proves.

"And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd." - Jn. 10:16
