AMP:For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
15 AMP:For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!
16 AMP:The Spirit Himself [thus] testifies together with our own spirit, [assuring us] that we are children of God.
17 AMP:And if we are [His] children, then we are [His] heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His inheritance with Him]; only we must share His (Rom. 8:14-18)
The true children of God are those who allow the Holy Spirit to lead them just like he led Jesus Christ into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
At the end of the temptation, the devil had to leave him in disappointment. (Matt. 4:1-11)
Most of us as believers would probably yield to temptations out of fear of what the devil can do. But we need to know WHO Christ is. We need to appreciate the glory that awaits us in heaven as a result of WHAT Jesus had done for us.
He did not just save us, he has made available all the resources of heaven with which God has blessed him to us. That is the reason why the life he offers us is an abundant life (John 10:10). The Holy Spirit seals us until the full revelation of God's abundance to us.
