Don't be selfish

in HeartChurch4 years ago

Selfishness is a great deterrent to wealth growth. As one builds up possession, the temptation is not to give anything away so that growth could be achieved. This is the rational human approach to building your wealth: stinginess, saving, delayed payments of creditors but not so in the Divine economy.
Solomon in Proverbs 11:24-25 says that the generous one gains whilst the stingy comes to poverty.

Nabal the husband of Abigail was a very wealthy man but when David and his hungry crowd asked for his assistance with good, he turned them away sarcastically. Nabal had thousands of cattle that David's men had helped to protect from marauders at no cost. When it was payback time, Nabal denied them.
As David was preparing to go and deal with the selfish Naval, Abigail his intelligent wife heard what her husband had done and went into Swift action. She loaded food and went to meet David, this appeased David who changed his mind from the revenge mission.
On hearing about this development, Naval was paralyzed and died later.

It is often said that the hand of the giver is always on top. When you give, you receive. Do not be like the Dead Sea which only received and never gives out, resulting in no life in it. In the economy of heaven, the fastest way to build your wealth is to give to the needs of others, create no room for selfishness or greed.

What you make happen for others, God will in turn make it happen for you in no time.
