The Bible is reliable because it is the Word of God. More than 1,900 times, the authors have claimed their message was from God. The phrases, “Thus saith the Lord” and “The Word of the Lord came to ...” are among the strongest arguments for accepting the Bible.
If God wrote a book, His truthfulness would demand that He claims to be its author. So, in phrases such as “The word of the Lord came to me” or “The mouth of the Lord has spoken” God is claiming authorship of the Bible.
Human authors normally add their names on the titles of their books. Similarly so that man could not mistake its source, God places His autograph throughout the Bible. The uniqueness of the message would then demand a unique avenue of communication.
Since the message demands credibility so it can be accepted, God must also communicate the message in a way that guarantees its reliability. Hence in the Bible, God gave His message and human messengers communicated that message from God.
