Integrity Test: The Job Story with lessons

in HeartChurch5 years ago (edited)

In our Generation, the question of one’s integrity is one of the most essential things to look out for in the lives of believers. A lot of great people have failed in their integrity test. One of the people in the Bible whom God had been very pleased even to the extent of boasting about his integrity is brother Job. The man was extremely blessed and favored by God that the devil felt uncomfortable with the blessings and thus asked God for a chance to shake him a little. See Job 2:1-3

1 Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD. 2 And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. 3 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause. Job 2:1-3 KJV

I am very particular about the verse three off the scripture where God gives satan an attestation about Job and satan would not want to accept those facts but rather asked for an opportunity to see things for himself. Just can’t figure out why God gave satan that chance to probe Job with those afflictions that he went through, but I am thrilled by the fact that He did not disappoint God by failing that integrity test. Now pay attention to some of the facts in verse three which God used in showcasing Job’s integrity to satan. perfect and upright, one that feareth God and hates evil. Theses words are not mere words, the carry strong character checks which at a glance one could tell if the person has integrity or not.
Someone once said that the character of a man is not really known until when he has access to three things money, women or strong drink. Money the Bible had said that the love of it is the root of all evil. Job was extremely blessed with cattle, servants, lovely children and a faithful wife. Note the word wife and not wives. Job would have gone ahead to marry many wives considering the fact that he had money which would perhaps have attracted him to a lot of temptation with the female folks, but he however was satisfied with his wife.
The question now is how faithful are you with the Blessings that God has in stock for you? Will you still be that good and humble if you were not blessed that much? Would you deny the name of the Lord and hate evil even when you are poor? Job answered these questions and even did better than was thought about him. He was upright, fair and straightforward. Can someone attest to you that you can be found faithful with money? Yes I mean money. Would you keep or your integrity in a situation that seems like an opportunity to enjoy the money that comes to your office?
There have been series of stories though I am yet to experience or see one where some good spirited citizens pick up bags with money and take to the radio or police station so that it could be returned to the owner of the money or item. Now when such scene is announced on radio or TV, you would often hear discouraging comments like why did he have to return the money when that was an opportunity for him to have enriched himself and his family.
The question that I have to ask now is
1.Are you a man of integrity?
2.Could people attest about your integrity in your absence?
3.Could you be trusted with money?
Think about this even as I pray that the Lord will give us all the grace to pass this integrity test when it comes our way cause this could either make or mare our future. God bless you all.
