Be Good to others.

Greetings to everyone! Welcome to my blog and today I would like us to have a view of this topic titled do good to others
As I was interacting with the #goldencenser this morning, I came across this golden rule that should be our guide as believers of God's word.
God is a giver of good things. He is the originator of things that are good. Every good and perfect gift proceeds from him. Perfection will only come to us if only we emulate God through Christ. If perfection cannot be attained, Christ wouldn't have come in the form of a Man. His commandment was that we should be perfect even as our father in heaven is perfect. In view of this, God is a giver of things that are good and hence, he expects us to show this aspect of goodness even to the outside world. The operation must first begin from our inside.
Jesus whose teaching is meant to save man totally from his lowly estate. This command according to this verse was emphasized by Jesus to us as a basis for our living. He expects us to treat others in the same way we had wanted to be treated. Jesus wasn't the first to teach this and in this vein he doesn't want us to overlook this fundamental principle of serving him. (I don't want us to go deep into historical context of this verse).
But truth be told, when you read further the book of Matthew, you will come across the ultimate rule which stands as a basis for our walk with God. When he was questioned by the Pharisee about the greatest commandment. His reply was that

A man should love God with his whole heart and all that constitutes him.
A man ought to love his neighbor as himself.

To summarise the afore mentioned verse. When you love your neighbor, you would always do unto him/her that which is good irrespective of the status quo of that fellow. When you love your neighbor, you wouldn't kill, steal or treat him/her With evil. But may I bring to your notice that if at first you fail to love God, then it will seem impossible for you to love your neighbor. If at all you do, it will always come with an interior motive. God's love towards us is unconditional so much that he had to bring unto us salvation through our saviour and lord JESUS Christ. A proof that you are indeed a follower of him is seen as you extend this love even unto others. The best way to show and give good thing to your neighbour is by propagating this good you have received from God. When you do unto others what the should do unto you, this world will not only be a better place, Goodness will always find its way to you.
