Hello #HomeSolutions friends. Today I want to share with you an annual tradition that is very important to me, it's about cleaning out my closet. This is something I normally do in August, in the days before my birthday, however, this year many things happened during that month and I didn't have the opportunity to do it, which ended up translating into a three-month delay that already had me quite uncomfortable. This week I took advantage of the fact that my son didn't have school on Friday, to take some of that extra time to do this cleaning, organizing and purging.
That's something I like to do to give a little order to my things and at the same time I gain a little peace of mind, because I hate to see everything "messy". It's not because I'm a person who leaves everything lying around, but over time and due to the rush sometimes I don't keep everything precisely in its place, or I don't fold them perfectly (as I would like) and that ends up accumulating and ends up causing me some discomfort. Besides that, I take the opportunity to take out what no longer serves me, either to give it away, donate it or throw it away and give me an idea of what are my real needs in terms of clothing and footwear.
I started this process by removing all the clothes I had on the shelves of my closet, then I cleaned both the shelves and the walls with a multipurpose cleaner. I placed all the clothes on my son's foamy mats and sat down to go through them garment by garment, some I even tried them on to decide whether to keep them or leave them. With all the clothes on the shelves checked I proceeded to check what was hanging, the process was the same, although here I had to try on almost everything.
In my closet, besides clothes, I also keep accessories and some of Leo's (my son's) things, these were also checked and divided. The ones I kept were stored in old shoe boxes and to save space I put them at the bottom of the shelves, since many of them are things that I need to access constantly, the ones I do use on a daily basis I left them in an easily accessible place. Many of these things went to the trash, which allowed me to free up a lot of space, and I was able to better organize both accessories and clothes.
Once the closet was ready to store the clothes, I began to fold everything and give it an order within the space I had freed. At the top were the long-sleeved tops and sweaters, in the next one the t-shirts and jeans, in the third one the accessories and makeup; finally, in the last one, I arranged the clothes to be at home and the pajamas. I also took advantage of the free space in the hanging area and rearranged the evening dresses, scarves and cardigans, using multi-level hooks that allowed me to save a lot of space by allowing me to hang several garments on the same hook.
Likewise, I took advantage and removed some shoes that were already in bad condition, cleaned the part where they are placed and rearranged the vacuum cleaner so that the long coats could have space to hang without rubbing against it. With that freed space, I could accommodate my backpacks and handbags, which had no fixed place and were in another piece of furniture outside the room.
All this work took me almost 7 hours, and yes, I ended up exhausted and with allergies to the top for all the dust I moved, but satisfied with everything I had done. In the end, the clothes and things were much better arranged, and I can access them more easily. The result of the cleaning was 2 large bags of clothes that will be donated to the victims of hurricane Otis and one bag of garbage.

Mi Limpieza Anual de Clóset
Hola, amigos de #HomeSolutions. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una tradición anual que es muy importante para mí, se trata de la limpieza de mi clóset. Esto es algo que normalmente hago en agosto, en los días previos a mi cumpleaños, sin embargo, este año pasaron muchas cosas durante ese mes y no tuve oportunidad de hacerlo, lo cual terminó traduciéndose en un retraso de tres meses que ya me tenía bastante incómoda. Esta semana aproveché que el viernes mi hijo no tuvo escuela, para tomar un poco de ese tiempo extra para realizar esta labor de limpieza, organización y depuración.
Esto es algo que me gusta hacer para darle un poco de orden a mis cosas y de paso con ello gano un poco de paz mental, porque detesto ver todo “desordenado”. No es porque yo sea una persona que deja todo tirado por todos lados, sino que con el tiempo y debido a las prisas a veces no guardo todo precisamente en su lugar o no los doblo a la perfección (como me gustaría) y eso se termina acumulando y termina ocasionándome cierta incomodidad. Además de eso, aprovecho para sacar lo que ya no me sirve, bien sea para regalarlo, donarlo o tirarlo a la basura y darme una idea de cuáles son mis necesidades reales en cuanto a vestido y calzado.
Este proceso lo comencé sacando toda la ropa que tenía en las repisas de mi parte del clóset, posteriormente limpié tanto los entrepaños como las paredes con un limpiador multiusos. Toda la ropa la coloqué en los tapetes de foamy de mi hijo y me senté a revisar prenda por prenda, algunas incluso me las probé para decidir si me las quedaba o se iban. Con todas las prendas de las repisas revisadas procedí a revisar lo que estaba colgado, el proceso fue el mismo, aunque aquí me tuve que probar casi todo.
En mi clóset, además de ropa, también guardo accesorios y algunas cosas de Leo (mi hijo), estas también fueron revisadas y divididas. Las que conservé las guardé en unas cajas viejas de zapatos y para ahorrar espacio las coloqué hasta el fondo de los entrepaños, ya que muchas son cosas a las que necesite acceder constantemente, las que sí uso a diario las dejé en un lugar de fácil acceso. De estas cosas muchas se fueron a la basura, lo que me permitió liberar bastante espacio y pude organizar mejor tanto los accesorios, como la ropa.
Una vez listo el clóset para el guardado de la ropa, comencé a doblar todo y a darle un orden dentro del espacio que había liberado. En la parte superior quedaron los "tops" de manga larga y los suéteres, en el siguiente las playeras y los jeans, en el tercero los accesorios y el maquillaje; finalmente, en el último, acomodé la ropa de estar en casa y las pijamas. También aproveché que liberé espacio en el área para colgar y reacomodé los vestidos de noche, las bufandas y los cárdigan, para ello usé ganchos con varios niveles que me permitieron ahorrar muchísimo espacio al permitirme colgar varias prendas en un mismo gancho.
De igual forma, aproveché y saqué algunos zapatos que ya se encontraban en mal estado, limpié la parte donde se colocan y reacomodé la aspiradora para que los abrigos largos pudieran tener espacio para colgar sin rozar con ella. Con ese espacio liberado pude acomodar mis mochilas y bolsas de mano, las cuales no tenían un lugar fijo y se encontraban en otro mueble fuera de la habitación.
Toda esta labor me llevó prácticamente 7 horas, y sí, terminé exhausta y con la alergia al tope por todo el polvo que moví, pero satisfecha con todo lo que había hecho. Al final la ropa y las cosas quedaron mucho mejor acomodadas y puedo acceder a ellas con mayor facilidad. El resultado de la depuración fueron 2 bolsas grandes de ropa que se irán a donar a los damnificados del huracán Otis y una de basura.

Yo también saco cada año ropa para donar.
Ya saqué hace meses, pero estos días saco otro poco para participar en la iniciativa de #hivesredcarpet ee regalar sonrisas.
Tu clóset se ve muy bonito y ordenado amiga.
Es una forma muy buena de mantener todo organizado y a la vez de deshacernos de lo que vamos guardando que no sirve.

Es una tarea grande, pero como la mayoría de trabajo lo hice sentada, no es tanto problema para la espalda.
A mi me gusta hacerlo una vez al año, así mantengo todo a lo mínimo y cada vez busco organizarlo diferente para variar un poco la cosa 😅

Veo que cuentas con un gran armario, tu tarea de seleccion de ropa me hizo recordar que cada vez que termino de cursar en la facultad ordeno todo mi cuarto para tirar laminas y materiales viejos que ya no uso y quedaron distribuidos por ahi siento que es la forma que tengo para decir OK YA TERMINE DE CURSAR y ordenar me sirve para tener paz mental jajaja y claramente me sucede lo mismo que a vos con el tema del polvo, no dejo de estornudar por horas.
Ordenar cualquier espacio me da paz mental 😅, aunque las secuelas de la alergia las cargué casi dos días, jajaja.

Así es, además el desorden en esos lugares es acumulativo, si pasa mucho tiempo sin arreglarse se convierten en un caos.
