Taking advantage of the fact that I had some PVC pipe glue left over from installing the tank that replaced the one that broke on Wednesday, and since this glue can't be stored for long because it dries out, I spent Sunday checking all the external pipes in the house to see if any were coming loose or leaking water at the joints.

Hola amigos de Hive y @home.solutions, espero que todos se encuentren muy bien y tengan un grandioso inicio de semana. Hoy vengo a contarles sobre un trabajo de mantenimiento de las tuberías de los tanques de agua de agua de la casa, algo muy importante para evitar fugas.
Aprovechando que me quedó pega para tubos de PVC con la instalación del tanque que sustituyó al que se rompió el día miércoles, y cómo está pega no se puede dejar mucho tiempo guardada porque se seca, me puse este domingo a revisar todas las tuberías externas de la casa para ver si había alguna que se estuviera despegando o filtrando agua en las uniones.
The external pipes in the house are the ones that go to the different tanks we have here. There are three tanks: the new one that was installed to replace the broken 1,000-liter tank, one that is at the top of the house and feeds the first floor, which is 700 liters, and another that is in the yard, which is 2,000 liters and feeds the 700-liter tank when it is empty. All of these have pipes for filling. In addition to these tanks, we also have a 14,000-liter concrete tank that is filled with a hose and used to water the plants and also feeds the 2,000-liter tank when it is empty.
During the inspection, I found several rings that were almost or completely detached. I found one detached ring on the pipe that feeds the 700-liter tank and all the rings on the pipe of the 2,000-liter tank.

Las tuberías externas que hay en casa son las que van a los diferentes tanques que tenemos acá, hay 3 tanques, el que se colocó nuevo para sustituir el que se rompió de 1.000 litros, uno que está en la parte superior de la casa y que alimenta el primer piso que es de 700 litros y otro que está en el patio de 2.000 litros que alimenta al tanque de 700 litros cuándo este se queda vacío, todos estos tienen tuberías para su llenado. Además de estos tanques, también tenemos uno de concreto de 14.000 litros que se llena con manguera y que se usa para regar las plantas y también alimenta al tanque de 2.000 litros cuándo este se vacía. Seguro están pensando que son muchos tanques, pero aún así más de una vez nos hemos quedado sin agua.
Bueno amigos, durante la revisión encontré varios anillos que estaban casi despegados o completamente despegados, conseguí un anillo despegado en la tubería que alimenta al tanque de 700 litros y todos los anillos de la tubería del tanque de 2.000 litros.
So I got to work. Using sandpaper, I removed the remains of the old glue stuck to the ends of the pipes until they were completely clean. This also helps to create a rough surface on the pipe to facilitate the adhesion of the glue. Then, using a cloth, I removed the dust. I did the same process with the rings. Then, using the brush that comes with the glue, I applied enough glue around the pipe and inside the ring. I then joined the pipe to the ring, pressing down so that it went all the way in, and left it to dry. I did this to all the pipes that had come loose.

Así que me puse a trabajar, con una lija retiré los restos de la pega vieja adherida en las puntas de los tubos hasta dejarlas completamente limpias, ésto también ayuda a crearle una superficie rugosa al tubo para facilitar la adhesión de la pega, luego con un paño le retiré el polvo, este mismo proceso se lo hice a los anillos. Luego con la brochá que trae el envase de la pega, coloqué pega suficiente alrededor del tubo y dentro del anillo, después uní el tubo con el anillo haciendo presión para que llegara hasta el final y dejé secar. Esto lo hice a todos los tubos despegados.
I also took the opportunity to glue the water pump outlet pipes that had come loose, following the same procedure as before. Another thing I did was to reapply Teflon to the threaded ends of the pump's water inlet and outlet connections, as they were worn. To do this, I completely removed the old Teflon and then reapplied it.

También aproveché para pegar los tubos de salida de la bomba de agua que estaban ya despegados, haciendo el mismo procedimiento anterior, otra cosa que hice fue volver a colocarle teflón a las puntas de la rosca de las uniones de entrada y salida de agua de la bomba, ya que estaban desgastadas, y para eso retiré completamente el teflón viejo y luego le coloqué de nuevo.
Bueno amigos considero que es un trabajo que se debe hacer cada cierto tiempo porque son tubos que quedan a la intemperie y se van soltando y de esa forma se puede malgastar agua y retrasar el llenado de los tanques. Y eso sería todo es todo por hoy, gracias por el apoyo y hasta otra oportunidad.
Siempre es bueno checar y reforzar las tuberías para no recibir sorpresas cuando llega el agua

La verdad es que sí es algo que hay que hacer de forma regular porque nada más con el sol todo eso se va aflojando con el tiempo.
