Old school lightpainting

in Lightpainters United4 years ago

I seem to have found a folder on an old hard drive full of my earlier lightpainting stuff. I'd love to recapture the magic of experimentation where I was trying out stuff for the first time! I've noticed recently the stuff I do is maybe more refined and not rough around the edges like this set:

For a while I became obsessed with swirly orbs. They were probably the thing that introduced me to the idea of "lightpainter's OCD" There is quite a few things wrong here where I would have redone this many times before the OCD box is ticked!

This was from a time where I tried to incorporate a polystyrene head in to lightpaintings. I was careful to place the head in the frame so they didn't clash. I can't think what the heck I was thinking with this shot but I was pleased with it at the time:

This was one of my earliest attempts at lightpainting indoors when the weather outside was dismal. I incorporated an iPad with a circuit board propoed against it and lit the board from behind and from the front.

And if you read this far...
I usually specialise in shooting lightpainting images but occasionally dabble in urbex and artistic model photography. I'm always on the lookout for someone to collaborate with; please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to create art.
