Following on from my previous post at this location but this time with added nocturnal shenanigans! The main reason for me getting involved in a little bit of Urban Exploration was ultimately to find suitable locations for Light Painting. Some locations were great clear and open spaces and some were pokey little rooms filled with crap and every other variation in-between but this one spot had it all.
RGB Man- The Sparky
A return trip did not take long to arrange, after showing my LP buddy Matt the images from my initial explore, he was well up for a visit. I'm not so sure if he was as keen to climb the rusty metal stairs up to the main dehydrator and once in the chamber we realized it was not a place where you would want to spend a lot of time. The chamber that housed the rotating dehydrator was about 6 - 8 meters tall and egg shaped, it was internally covered in white tiles, half of which had fallen off as the room slowly decayed. It reminded me of those documentaries in the 80's of the Space Shuttle Discovery with all the white ceramic, heat dissipating tiles and the door to the chamber which was about 15 cm thick with a small window with 4 cm thick glass. The dehydrator was totally covered in flaking rust and had 3 articulated arms with meter long scrapers on the end of each arm, these would have skimmed the whole internal surface of the chamber as the dehydrator did its job of removing all the water from the product which was Milk to make powdered Milk, used for all kinds of products. I think it was too big of a repair job for The Sparky!
Spaces with Unusual Perspectives
I'm not sure what the above space was for as it was a large metal platform which only access was from a narrow metal staircase. It was about 5 meters above the ground level and had a clear headroom of another 3 storeys above. A very early but poorly spun orb and an LED light wand illuminated the space.
Backlit Platform Leap 
Just to show that he had no fear about parts of the crumbling building and its thoroughly rusted metal parts, Matt took a leap from the railings onto the metal platform as he operated a flash gun. Loved the effect but was still shaking after he landed with an almighty bang and the whole of the metal structure wobbled and rang like a bell for a few seconds. I would have been keen to try more with this shot but was not risking another jump onto the platform with the fear that it might give way, so we moved on.
Mastersphere in the Vent Room
I did take far more shots than I have posted here all from 2015 but many of them just didn't tickle my fancy, most of the LP I created back then was spontaneous, so after spending a couple of minutes looking at LP tools and the room/building I was in, I would just try movements to fit in the space.
Final Transmission (Bourton's Termination)
Plans were hatched to re-visit and try out some more technical planned shots but when we eventually returned two years later in January 2017 the site was nearly completely demolished with only part of the main metal framed building left.
