An orb I created on top of a rocky outcrop at Valla Beach a few weeks ago, with the lovely Rachel (@ochre_anne) absorbing its unearthly power.
This was a test of a new tool; a 'Bunch'o'Balloons' orange plastic straw-like cap taped on the end of a purple acrylic tube (swipe left for pix of a similar set-up).
Torch used was the Lightpainter from @lightpaintingparadise on strobe mode (use code RODEVANS for 10% off at checkout).
Hiding behind the rock was my friend @elliehatte who used a torch to backlight Rachel for a few seconds after I created the orb.
Single exposure:
10mm, f/4.5
ISO-3200, 30secs

Really cool shot man! 😎😎
I guess your model suffered a bit to keep that pose during half a minute.
The tool you built is very interesting.
The picture is really noisy but what can we expect at 3200 ISO^^. I would be curious, as a fan of photography in general and according to your editing skills (I don't know a damn thing about it), to see this shot in an edited version.
Too neat! I tried photographing the Milky Way several weeks ago and was not as successful as this. The backlight on your friend really does add a pop to the image!
