The youngest of all rally drivers from McRae family finally snatched his first overall win - at Cumbrian Rally, event of British Rally Championship. I saw some struggles when he drove Citroen C3 Rally2, but last weekend he was behind a steering wheel of Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 and everything start to look brighter.
He had a big fight with 2024 Junior WRC champion Romet Jürgenson who was leading before the last special stage but then he lost lots of time there and let Max McRae win overall rally.
This came as a big boost to McRae's expectations and confidence and there is probably more to come for 2026. At least, he finally found machinery he finds more suitable for driving then Citroen was. Yeah, sometimes you just realize that some car is easier to adapt to to your driving style.
