Hi thoughtful bloggers, it's Abeegail again, welcome to my blog. I heard something very thought-provoking today. As I was walking down to my house, coming back from my sister's shop, I saw two men discussing and one of them said "everyone thinks they are a good person until life actually test them". I have never heard something so real before and I thought about it until I reached my house.
We are so fast to call ourselves or decision "good" when we haven't been in situations that would compromise our morals. When doing the right thing costs you something big, that’s when your morals stop being something that is said and start becoming choices. It so easy to say "I will never lie" when lying is the only way out of that situation or saying "I'm loyal" when you haven't been tested or saying "I'll never be mean" when everyone treats you so well.

Our ego tells us that we are righteous when in fact we are just comfortable. Morals goes beyond words, do our actions match when we are forced to make hard decisions under pressure? it’s not just about what you choose to do, but why you choose it. Are you being moral because it’s convenient, or because it’s right even when it hurts you?
Now I understand why we are tested and why we sometimes face difficult times, it's to prove not only our faith but our principles, to get a clear view on who we truly are. The hardest part to deal with is when you fail your own standard. When you realize you weren’t as "strong" or "good" as you thought you were. But it's okay because that's when you develop a true sense of who you are.
True morality isn't proven in calm waters, it is proven when the storm hits, When doing the right thing hurts. So don't boast of your principles when you haven't been tested because that's when we truly know who we are.
It's Abeegail ✨💗
