Everyone says when they get that particular thing they need so much in life, they’ll be okay. In fact, you’ll often see people praying so much, “God, please just give me this, and I promise that’ll be all. ”.

I don’t want to say it’s a lie because it’s not. It’s actually a hoax that people don’t even realize until someone points it out to them. For example, people on the outside of the lives of rich people call them greedy because they always want more than they have. They are never satisfied with what they’ve got, but to them, it’s not the case.
I kind of side with them because until it’s you in the situation, you get blindsided.
In case you are confused, let me tell you a story. So some years back, my friend wanted a boyfriend. She said she wanted a sweet, manly, tall, and intentional man. At some point she even gave up because she wasn’t meeting anyone like that.
And the sad part was her last relationship was with an abuser. But then she had healed after many years and was making sure to run away in case she saw any red flags in anyone. And so for years, she kept running until early last year, when she met his current boyfriend.

You know the interesting part? The guy is sweet, manly, intentional, tall, and all that she wanted. They’ve been together for a while now. I mean, six months is a while, right? But she’s still not satisfied. She says she wants the man to tend to her needs without asking. And I’m just so confused because how will I know what you need until you tell me? And it’s funny how she wanted a manly person but doesn’t know that’s part of the whole package.
For a while now, she’s always complaining, but I really hope that she remembers that she’s living an answered prayer. At least she’s living a way better life than she was with that abusive man of an ex.
It’s just sad that we’re so quick to forget that we’re living an answered prayer just because of how insatiable our desires are. Maybe, just maybe, any time we want something more than what we have (which is not a bad thing), we should be thankful and appreciative of what we have now. After all, once upon a time, it was something we used to stay up all night wishing and hoping we’d have.
