Laying A Good Legacy For Your Children

in ThoughtfulDailyPost13 days ago

Greetings everyone, welcome to my blog.

I want to share my thoughts with you on what I caption laying a good legacy for your children. This is something parents should always think about every day.

I'm currently in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area Akwa Ibom State. But the name of the village I'm staying in right now is Ikot Osurua.

Something happened earlier this week in their polytechnic. It happened in the Department of Science Laboratory Technology.

A non-teaching staff member, alongside one H.O.D. and one female teaching staff member, was reported to the school authority because of their misconduct.

To me, people who are teaching in higher institutions should be well-behaved. They shouldn't be involved in any illegal act that would tarnish their image within the school vicinity and their community as a whole.

But to my greatest surprise, they seemed not to understand their duties. They preferred taking shortcuts just to get what they wanted.

A female student went to check her results a few days ago, and a man who was in charge of recording told her she still carries over the course after paying him a huge amount of money.

So when she asked him why it was so, he started yelling at her. But to his shock, the lady raised an alarm, and people who were close by went to find out what transpired between the two of them.

She told them he got money from her all in the name of correcting her result, because he told her she carried over the course. But when she came to find out if he had done what was expected of him, he ended up telling her that she still had to carry over the course.

Immediately she finished speaking, other students who had collected a huge amount of money, without correcting anything, also told her their own side of the story.

Aside from that, he books a hotel for students to come and meet him even after paying the money. But after everything, they would still fail.

One of the most shocking parts of the story is that he has most students' registration numbers off-hand. So once he sees you, he will mention your registration number, and he will inform you that you have a carryover, that you should pay him money to correct the result for you.

But if you don't have any money to give to him, you will realize that once the result is past, you don't have any carryover.

You see the level of immaturity, fraud, and stupidity that is going on in most of our institutions? All these acts have stopped most students from studying because they believe that without money, no lecturer would offer them good grades.

Let me ask a question, how do you feel when people's children weep because you decide to ruin their destinies because of money?

As parents, how would you feel if someone did that to your child?
Think about this. I plead with our parents to stop leaving behind bad legacies for us as their children. Let them be content with the little they have.

What a public disgrace! And their photos are trending on social media.

Be careful with your actions.

Thank you.
