Thank you for bringing through your publication several topics that contribute to the reflective discursiveness in this sharing of knowledge and experiences. Our world is diverse and so is the transculturality that unites us in collective teaching and at the same time makes us particular. Like your culture, we Latinos are trained to care with attention and zeal for our older adults and family members with disabilities. However, in my professional practice as a physician, I see with sadness and dismay, more and more lonely and neglected older adults every day. My country Venezuela, undermined by the ghost of the crisis, has forced the new generations to migrate to other countries with the purpose of “a better quality of life” unfortunately at the expense of the neglect and abandonment of the elderly.
There is an urgent need for greater solidarity and collective care programs such as the ones you mention, they are wonderful ideas, and perhaps in supportive communities and governments with conscience and political will, they can come to fruition.
We thank you for your manifest commitment to our weekly call, it is always a pleasure to go through your heartfelt reflections. Health and well-being !LUV !HUG !LADY

Gracias por traer a través de su publicación diversos temas que contribuyen a la discursividad reflexiva en este compartir de saberes y experiencias. Nuestro mundo es diverso y también lo es la transculturalidad que nos une en la enseñanza colectiva y a la vez nos hace particulares. Al igual que su cultura, los latinos estamos formados para cuidar con atención y celo a nuestros adultos mayores y familiares con discapacidad. Sin embargo, en mi ejercicio profesional como médico, veo con tristeza y consternación, cada día más adultos mayores solos y desatendidos. Mi país Venezuela, minado por el fantasma de la crisis, ha obligado a las nuevas generaciones a emigrar a otros países con el propósito de «una mejor calidad de vida» lamentablemente a costa del descuido y abandono de los adultos mayores.
Urge una mayor solidaridad y programas de atención colectiva como los que usted menciona, son ideas maravillosas, quizás en comunidades solidarias y gobiernos con conciencia y voluntad política, puedan llegar a materializarse.

I totally agree with you. Even cultural and religious ethics cannot protect the elders. And it's almost nobody's fault because the world is changing and will continue to change.
It's better to build a system, where individuals and govt come together and make something to support the elders. The problem is that the elderly can't add financial value to the system so no one cares.
I wish we could do more.
