We are living in strange times... With the Internet, we are connected more than ever with all of our friends all around the globe, yet it looks like we are losing our social skills and support from the closest ones...
And regarding quitting, it happened many times for me too... Usually, the success is waiting behind the last curve, when we are at the end of our strength!

I think the thought to quit is part of our journey to transformation or the biggest breakthrough. But as I said, it doesn't mean weakness, it's just you been tired of doing what you're ought to do.
