"Strangers are friends you haven't met yet."
We went to Vikings to celebrate yesterday, and at first we were kind of disappointed with the table placement given to us, as we wanted something that was more private, but I guess everything happens for a reason.
We were seated next to two lovely Koreans who were the sweetest I've met. When they found out that it was my birthday, they happily greeted me, and Sunny even gave me a Korean skincare cosmetic—a Kbeauty multibalm stick that is all over Kdrama. I was so touched by her kind gesture. We just met, yet she was so thoughtful to give me something because she learned that it was my birthday.
What was supposed to be an intimate birthday lunch turned into a party of four. It was their last day in Cebu after a 7-day vacation, and she asked for some recommendations of a coffee shop to visit. I referred her to Unity & Vinyl. She sent me a message a while back saying that they made it to the cafe and that they loved it.
It is the first day of 2024, and here I am making new connections. So go on, smile a little, and don't be too afraid to make new friends.
The world is still filled with beautiful and kind people. You just have to put yourself out there and attract the energy you want to receive.
It's the second day of the year, Have you already reflected on your 2023 journey? I'm hoping 2024 will bring out the best yet in all of us. If you had any struggles in the past year, know that everything has a purpose and that same struggle will bring out the bravest version of you.
Never let your bad experiences affect your view on the world and towards people. There is still a lot of good out there.
