Having lived for over 2 decades and more, I can say that human beings and assumptions are almost inseparable. People assume a lot of things about me, partly because I am a very private person. My business is not in everybody's face, and this has kept a lot of people guessing.
What Do People Often Assume About Your Life That You Want to Correct or Confirm?"
People always assume I was born with a silver spoon; they always assume that I am innocent and can't hurt a fly, while I can kill a lion if properly taught how to do so. By virtue of my childhood and all my experiences, I was well exposed, and with great exposure comes broadening your horizons.
Truly, life has been good to me and my family, but my family and I aren't as wealthy as people think, and I am tired of people thinking all is well in my family while we fight different battles daily.
Back then in school, people assumed buying textbooks and handouts was a walk in the park for me, and as a result of that, no one expected me to buy these materials late or not buy at all. Buying those text books was a big struggle for me, contatry to what my classmates thought.
At first, I kept explaing and defending myself but when I discovered it was all falling on deaf ears, I let them think or assume whatever they wanted as long as somewhere in that assumption, I am not labeled a murder or whore. With that out of the way, I could manage the rest.
Assumptions can be pretty annoying, as you can even get into trouble in some cases, and in other cases, you might end up losing the good people around you. We need to stop assuming, let people live their lives without you guessing and assuming based on what they show us.
