Hello Hive students community. I can’t begin to tell you how glad i am that stumbled upon this community a great place to share my biggest fear as a student and how I plan to overcome it. Before I tell you mine, take a minute to answer this question honestly; What defines your most painful realization as a student?
For me, it is the realization of the weight the word “RESPONSIBILITY “carries. I think it is just one of those things you don’t understand until your experience it. And one of the hardest things is to be responsible for you. Funny right, especially for people like me who have been responsible for their sibling practically all their lives the level of expectance becomes higher.
I haven’t really experienced the weight outright yet, but I have been around people who graduate and realize that school was just the tip of the iceberg. At this point the realization that life is somewhat a solo journey dawns on them real bad and the fall into a state of depression and the same question feels our mind as students, what is really out there for us in the real world? Are there opportunities waiting for us in the labor market? Think about it, what does the world has to offer to us? Do we come out after spending years in school Just to add to the millions of survivors we already have on earth. When you think about this you can either choose to wallow in self-pity and accept to be a victim to bad governance and inflation or you can choose the high way.
I think the only thing we need to realize is that truly there’s not much out there and for many of us, there is probably nothing out there for us in the real world. There will be no opportunities in the labor market waiting for us so we better start creating one. The world has nothing to offer to us rather it is waiting to receive what we have to offer. We didn’t study all this years to wait for opportunities but rather to create one.
The truths is as students this is the best days of our lives to leverage on, learn a skill, work on something, draft out a plan, start a company from scratch, build that life you so badly desire. Beat procrastination to it and make that move no matter how little it will counts. Let cook something delicous for the world will eat up so when great men rise from our generation we are one of them and we don’t watch our peers and wish we had their lives. Let not just talk but work the talk.
