It's another amazing week, and you know what that means - it's the 14th edition of the weekly prompt to spark your creativity and get those ideas flowing in. Hive Student Connect is a community where students on Hive share their blogs. It is a vibrant space for Hive students to engage, learn, connect, and collaborate to grow and develop.

"What’s Your Approach to Dealing With Peer Pressure?"
Peer pressure is something everyone faces, including students. It becomes clear that there's a subtle (sometimes loud) push to fit in, a desire to copy others or act in a certain way to feel accepted. It could come in form of skipping a class when your friends made you see reasons to dodge class because to them, “everyone does it,” or other times, it could be in form of dressing a certain way to feel accepted because you are afraid they might push you away and other times, it is spending money you don't have to keep up with others.
This prompt is all about sharing with us how you deal with those moments. When you are pressured, how do you feel? Do you accept or walk away? Do you remind yourself of your values or goals? Or maybe you've been a victim and have learned the hard way. It was something you gave in and regretted, or perhaps you stood your ground and felt proud afterwards.
Please share with us the practical strategies that help you not give in and stay true to yourself. Your story might encourage someone else who is going through the same thing or something similar.
You could use these guides to form your story:
- How did you handle something you felt pressured to do?
- What made you say no when others are trying to influence you?
- How did you keep up with those friends or circles that kept inviting you to do something they are doing, even though you know it was wrong?
- What lessons have you learned from peer pressure, and how has it helped you learn about yourself?
