Not Just Study Partners, But a Lifeline Through My University Years

Finding study partners who changed my academic life for good was so handy for me.

I lived in a school hostel during my year one and in a room that looked like a big hall, lol. That was the last bus stop for anyone who missed the main school hostel; you will be pushed to the hall-like room usually occupied by 12 roommates, or you may decide to live off campus.

I never wanted to live off campus, especially in my 100-level year, as I wanted to be so conversant with all the happenings in the school environment, and so I resorted to living in such a hall-like room. It was interesting, as most of us in that room looked like selected serious-minded individuals who are so much of bookaholics...lol, but then while I observed carefully, I noticed two ladies who I felt we shared similar attributes with.

I watched the way they always go to night class for studies and go to fellowships and are so active in both. I loved that and boldly met them, shared my interests in studying with them, and we clicked so easily. Three of us became so bonded and lived like sisters while in the university.

Their consistency and intelligence were the two qualities that stood out and got me captivated by them. That's what I saw, and I was like, "Yes, these two will push me to being more productive in school," and I wasn't wrong, they did excellently, just the way I wanted it. Along the line, we had two more guys join us, and we became 5 in total.

Those guys were fire too, so intelligent and knew better some few courses some of us ladies were struggling a bit with; things got more balanced with them. For any course any of us were struggling with, there must be someone in our study group to come through. This made me never have issues academically throughout my four years in the university; it's a win-win.

I knew what I wanted, and I defined my goal in school; that alone guided me in choosing those study partners. These people weren't only limited to studies alone; we still had our social life in school but definitely not clubbing like other students.

Overall, we had a nice time together as study partners, did projects together that came out so nice, motivated each other to study harder and much more, and finally graduated to be close friends to date.

It's same for me , just have friends who are consistent in what they do and when it comes to the right time for things, they should do them. School is one place one can get badly influence if you allow it
