Everyone has some regrets in their lives: things they wanted to do but could not, places they wished they could visit but could not, and activities they wanted to partake in but could not. I will be sharing with you just a few of my regrets from school.
One of the things I carry with me, heavy in my heart, whenever I think of it, is not being able to learn video editing with my friend when he was learning, while we were in school at that time, I knew when he started learning since we share the same bed; which was when we were in our third year in school. I didn’t put my mind to it because I had no computer of my own, and we couldn’t use the same system to learn. Today, my friend owns a company where he is a producer earning a lot of money from the profession. If I had the knowledge he had, we would probably be running the company together as partners.
Another thing I regretted not doing in school was not making many friends. I was a reserved person all through school, and I was only seen conversing with another person when the other person initiated the conversation. After our lectures most days, I will leave the lecture premises and head back to my lodge, not waiting to hang out with my classmates even for a short time, and because of that, I only have a few friends from my class. Today, I am only in contact with just four of my classmates from a class of about 400 when we started in our first year.
The other thing I regret from my time at school is not having the courage to ask Amina to be my girlfriend back then. Amina was my friend's coursemate, whom I met through him; she was the only girl I found beautiful in the whole school. Amina was petite and had the most stunning eyes. We became friends with Amina, but just being her friend was not enough for me; I wanted more, but didn’t summon the courage to ask her out.
