One thing about we people is that we are selective and we have our own specifications when it comes to the people who we want in our lives.
This specification might be as a result of so many things which can be from our past experiences with others, or in most cases, it stems from what character we personally possessed which in one way or the other could lead us in choosing who we want to be friend with, or who we want our reading partner to be.
Having talked so much about this, I would like to discuss with us my own qualities of a good friend or reading partner.
For someone like me who is so selective when choosing a friend or reading, there's only three qualities that would make me choose and select you as my friend or reading partner.
The first of the three is your sincerity of purpose. Although I'm no longer a student, back in the days of my studentship, one thing I do or look out for while trying to make friends or reading partners is how sincere the person is with his or her own life and purpose.
One thing I'm very sure of is that, when a person is sincere with his life, he will be sincere with his purpose and he or she will not relent until she or he achieves success in life and also, I believe such a person will also be sincere to me as a person, that's the spirit.
Also, another quality I would look out for in a good friend or reading partner is consistency. For a person to be considered a good friend to me, such a person must be consistent with his or her purpose in life as I believe in the power of consistency so much.
For someone like me, I would not like an inconsistent person who would read or pursue his or her academic excellence today and by tomorrow fail to continue and this is because I'm not the type that does such. Thanks Samuel, my reading partner while I was an undergraduate, he's the one that taught me this and ever since then, I never relent on my oars.
Furthermore, the third quality i so much look for in a good friend or reading partner is humility. A humble would be able to correct, but a person full of pride would not and this might serve as a red flag to our friendship and this is because such a person might be difficult to correct and as for me who love to be corrected, I wouldn't want someone that would not want to be corrected as a friend and reading partner.
In conclusion, these three qualities of sincerity of purpose, consistency and humility and my three good to go qualities of a good friend and reading partner.

We have a lot of students in school for the wrong reasons, unable to prioritise what matters as a student but having someone who is sincere about their purpose in school and also goes in line with one's purpose makes it a lot easier to grow together academically as a student. Humility is one of the most scarce character among students, knowing and having so much and still act the lowest is a rare quality.
