Hello, Hive!
Hey everyone — I’m Bharath Raj M. If that name rings a bell from about four years ago, then you’ve got a better memory than me! Last time I was here my account got royally hacked and pulled a proper disappearing act — faster than my coffee on a Monday morning. I went quiet for a while, sorted things out, and now I’m back. Slightly wiser, a bit more careful with logins, and ready to share again.
I missed this place — the laughs, the weird niche corners, the kinds of conversations you don’t get on ordinary feeds. Hive has that honest, cosy chaos and I missed being part of it. So, consider this my official return-of-the-Jedi post. 😉
Quick intro — who I am (short and simple)
I’m *26, living in the textile hustle of ** Tirupur, Tamil Nadu. By day I’m a *costing manager — yes, I spend time with spreadsheets and make the numbers behave. By night and on weekends my head flips: I draw. I love illustration and creating characters — weird, funny, quiet, loud — I try to give them little lives and tiny personalities.
I’m from *Shivamogga, Karnataka, the so-called “rainy forest.” I grew up in a small place called *Garage Camp, right below the big Bhadra Dam. It’s the kind of place where a monkey stealing your snack is normal and the greenery looks like a painting. That background stuck with me and probably explains why I love making characters that feel a little alive.
Why I draw (no pressure, just curiosity)
I don’t have formal training in fundamentals. I’ve been doing character ideas, experiments, and lots of practice — but mostly winging it. So, this time I’m being honest: I’m starting from scratch. The goal is simple — learn the basics properly, then grow into the kind of illustrator who can actually make the characters I imagine.
I like experimenting — shapes, expressions, poses — and playing with light and shade in ways that make things pop. Mostly, I want to build strong fundamentals, so the style has a backbone. No shortcuts, no pretending; just practice and small improvements, 
The plan — small, steady, and a little chaotic
This blog` will be my public sketchbook. I’ll share practice updates, character ideas, and little notes about what I tried and what worked. Nothing polished every time — expect messy pages, occasional surprises, and slow, steady progress.
Longer-term, I aim to start a small clothing manufacturing unit — honest, small-batch stuff inspired by the characters and ideas I draw. But that’s a future chapter. For now, it’s about the basics: lines, form, expression, and getting better, one sketch at a time.
It’s good to be back. No big promises — just curiosity, pencils, and a bit of stubbornness. Let the journey begin. Chalo, sketchbook open, pencil ready. ✌️
