This is a post about all the books I have read in 2025. Each time I publish a review on HIVE, I will add one to the counter :)

More Area X. Interesting, but I wanted it to be over sooner than it actually was.

It took me two library loans to get through, but probably because I didn't want it to end...

A little less wonderful than the one before but still... interesting

What a fantastic novel. I am looking forward to the others in the series.

A Cancticle for Leibowitz is a tough novel to digest. It follows an order of monks through a post-apocalyptic setting on the future Earth and speculates upon whether man is committed to repeat history, or if, they perhaps can derive some sort of salvation.

Cixin Liu's Anthology, Hold Up the Sky surprised me with its profound beauty and parable like nature. While the science fiction stories took a technical, universal scale, there was still human emotion.

The Difference Engine is meant to the birth place of steampunk novels. as far as I am concerned, it is the birthplace of a really unexciting book.

An incredibly intellectual story that sticks with you for a long period of time. It isn't easy to read, but it is profound, deep, interesting, and very good.

A story I read as a child, reread as an adult. A completely different story with the wisdom of having aged.

One I regret reading.

Over rated. A page turner, but so very shallow and full of silly, outdated stereotypes.

As the title of my review suggests, a story worse than the TV adaptation.

When "give me more of the universe" turns out to work really well.

A fantastic conclusion to an incredible trilogy.

Quite possibly the best of the series, The Dark Forest is the Three Body's Problem's glamorous and intellectual middle child.

Where it all began. One of the most "life changing" books I've read, in terms of the approach it takes on the way we see the universe.

Arthur C Clarke delivers a lengthy masterclass in storytelling and exploring an alien psyche.

A sad book about the human condition, and the "end" of hope, everything goes wrong, and you're powerless to stop it.

Better than the original. Lots to explore. So many memorable characters.

A story so filled with wonder and exploration, and suspense, but where nothing really happens. A classic, and one that should be read multiple times.

A fantastic story at the intersections of science, religion and engineering. With a dash of politics and a space elevator.
What a great reading year so far... i envy you for having many of these books still fresh in your mind. Definitely agree with you on Rama and Cixin. Loved them both. I will keep in mind the fan fiction book in the Three Body universe. I was aware of it, but didn't really trusted it. Would do me good to return to that universe.
I will also add Miéville's book to the list. I've been trying to get into Miéville, but didn't work for me. Will give it another try.
I also loved A Canticle for Liebowitz so enjoy!
On the other hand, I do have a question. You mention Ender's Game, another of my favorites. How about the rest of the Ender saga? I don't even remember how many books there are. I remember waiting years for Card to write the final novel. Highly-recommended reading if you haven't delved into the whole saga.
Sorry for the long comment :)) Looking for something to read is sort of an obsession for me. Many times I despair - if I've read all the good books, maybe I've overstayed my welcome here :)
Don't apologise! I've got the other books from Card in Ender's Saga on hold at the library. There's a looong queue for them.
Miéville's was hard, but rewarding reading. Truly exceptional.
I don't think I am "smart enough" for a Canticle for Liebowitz, but I'm trying.
No wonder. I never got to read the prequel, The Formic Wars, but at some point I might.

I am repeating here my statements made on your other comment on my post:
My downvote on your post that was made to clearly extract rewards from the reward pool by using tags not relevant to your posts.
You are of course, free to make such comments such as the one you've left above on my posts, but I refute your allegation that this post is a "scam". It is a collection to enable the discovery of my content, which is difficult for users to discover.
In my future posts on book reviews, this collection will be updated to reflect new additions and act as a decentralised "good reads" page.
This is cool. I need to get off my ass and read more or at least review what I do read. Now I'm knitting everything is audio books.
Ursula Le Guin... the word for world is forest. Ever read her stuff?
Couldn't get into 3 body problem. Maybe I'll try the audio. Loved the series.
Heard of it, will read it one day. Maybe. Sent you an elaborate discord message in regards to my thoughts on Le Guin :D
I mix audio books in with the real ones. I experienced 3 body as audio for the whole lot. Its in South Australian libraries, but it had a decent wait on Libby. It was definitely worth it.
The Dark Forest is a fucking incredible, mind blowing book. So good.
