That rejection is why i am not a big fan of public acts of commitment. Commitment stuff should be private between two people giving each other a chance to react honestly rather than under pressure from the surrounding. That's also a reason why i am not a big fan of hallmark card days. I tend to enjoy Valentine's with my wife a few days before or after the specific day. This way we have a cosy time together without all he fanfare and/or hiked prices. We are not so much into gifts, but this year on a lark my wife gifted me a small throw pillow, pink in color and a mug too with pink color background and a drawing of a pig couple on it. It was very cute.
I am happy that you had friends who kept you in their minds and sent you the gifts they knew you would appreciate. I hope the ruined proposal did not spoil your day.
Cheers, from one #dreemerforlife to another.
The Rejection didn’t ruin my day, thank you for asking. I am also not a fan of public proposal too. The embarrassment that comes with being rejected.
