Why You Need To Stop Strolling

Life is full of sacrifices, and Hivenaija prompts us to ask the question

“What's one thing in your life at the moment that you think you need to sacrifice to be able to move forward?”

Letting go, as simple as this sounds, is so difficult. I'm talking about letting go of old habits and quitting strolling from one social media to another. Letting go of procrastination. A big flex—one thing about procrastination: a procrastinator always has hope he has time. It always comes with “I will” two months gone, three months, six months, and a year gone, and the next thing you hear, new year, new me. Let me make my New Year's resolution, and do you know the amazing part of what you do with that time is strolling through one TikTok video to another? I could remember a certain day when I decided to give myself a test. I came home, day one, tired.

My to-do list was half done and still needed an extra 5 hours to complete. Halfway through it, I slept off. The second day, I became extra exhausted and decided to check in on TikTok. I spent all night strolling from one video to the next, and do you know the most amazing part?

I never got tired, and neither did I feel sleepy, but the moment you want to do something more reasonable, it feels like a huge task.Letting go of things that don't bring growth and don't add value is difficult and only takes discipline and a positive mindset to overcome.

And it's more addictive doing the wrong things than the right ones.My boss once said fear kills dreams like a barrier preventing you from breaking free because you have trained your mind and continuously told yourself you can't handle it because you're scared of the unknown and uncertainty before it even comes.Fear limits us from being the best version of ourselves, and letting go of fear is a big challenge and huge sacrifice. I could remember my first extraction.

I was so scared even before I extracted the tooth. My mind keeps troubling me; it always comes with the what if. What if things go wrong? Would you be able to handle it? What if it fractures? That was my biggest fear then, and it took me so long to overcome. As much as I kept reminding myself that every challenge always has a solution, there is this inner voice of doubt holding you back, and it's left for you to overcome your biggest fear. The things that make your heart beat so fast at the thought of it.Problems always have a solution as long as you acknowledge you have a problem.

Nobody is in Iceland, and there isn't any need to keep your problems to yourself. By sharing your problems, you receive clarity, advice on ways to go about it, and even emotional support telling you you're not alone on this journey.

But we always shy away from our problems, possibly scared of telling the wrong person. In conclusion, my biggest flex on growth is to sacrifice all my social media accounts, probably freeze them for months, or completely delete them. It will go a long way in helping me climb the ladder.

Exactly, it's everybody , immediately you decided to do something meaningful that is when the sleep comes. Procrastination and fear is a killer of dreams and everyone that want to achieved dreams must overcome it

Not everyone can but if you crack the code then it's so easy.

Mindless scrolling through social media is addictive and crazy. I might not be one who's involved in it, but I know how the entire cycle works. Procrastination, though, is where I have an issue, but I'm learning to overcome.

It can be difficult initially but it's just about your mind. If you can train your mind never to give excuses in every situation then you might have the solution.

The truth is our bodies like the easy stuff and keeps us in our comfort zone but the reality is if you don't move nothing moves so the best way to climb the ladder of success is doing the hard stuff cause being broke is hard and being rich is hard but you have to choose your hard

Being broke is so easy not hard.
