I think I need to ask my maker when I see Him in glory why He allowed me to be born in Nigeria? Upon all the nations of the world apart from Africa countries, why I'm I been born in a country where the government doesn't have anything tangible to offer her citizens than suffering.
Even when the citizens are thriving so hard to earn a living by toiling day and night, the government will still implement a policy that will steal from them. It's so sad that my beloved country is blessed with several natural resources that can make life easier for her citizens but greed has creeped into the system.
To the extent that once anyone (whether male or female) has the slightest opportunity to be in any political post, the only thing in his or her mind is embezzlement. The funds that ought to be used for national development will be embezzled by those that were elected to power by the innocent citizens.
In Nigeria, there is nothing like rural or urban planning, everyone does as they pleases in mapping out their territories. Although all states of the federation have 'Town planning and Development Authority' (TPDA) which is a department under the Ministry of land and housing, but it's not functioning.
The present usefulness of TPDA is just to charge you for land use whenever you are erecting a building, they stamped your achitectral plans and give out receipts that's all. Nothing concerns TDPA in helping us to plan out our cities so as for it to become smart cities, all they want is your money. And if you dare not pay all the levy they charged you, your building will be marked by their task force as been illegal and they will do everything possible to frustrate your efforts.
Some areas in Nigeria aren't motor able because almost all land owners want to fence their landed properties and claim all their lands. Even if some areas have accessible roads, it will be filled up with numerous sizes of potholes.

Anyone that intends to be a car owner here must have a rugged car because the roads are worst. Though some roads are newly constructed, but with poor drainages, only God knows the kind of unprofessional constructors those in government do employ here.
There are lots of roads here in which once it's raining, roads users usually dodge the area because of flood, people look for alternative routes just to safe guard their lives. I've heard cases in which some people are been carried away by flood all because there are no proper planning in such area. It's just so sad that everywhere here in my country is in shamble and no one to help us out in our terrible states.
Everyone here is just struggling daily for means of survival and nothing seems to be working, whereas we have all resources at our disposal that can better our lives. Please what's the essence of having a course known as Urban and Regional Planning in some Polytechnics in Nigeria and nothing seems to be working? It's just so pathetic that my country is crawling like a baby in terms of development.
