A Lasting Solution to the Expensive Power Supply Cost and Epileptic supply in my community..

Hello Hive

I visited a home yesterday and found this system that was working effectively. At first glance, I was attracted to what was going on. This isn't my first time seeing solar gadgets, but this was a bit unexpected. As small as the solar battery in this Sun King device looks, it powered up this solar fan for hours. I gathered that it could work for 24 hours if the intensity of the sun was high.

This is one of the cheap solar system arrangements you can find in a home. In the initial arrangements, a solar battery like this comes with a very small panel placed on the roof of a house, and then you can choose to work out an arrangement of light bulbs and most likely a solar TV, just like the one attached to it here.

The solar bulbs, TV, panel, and solar battery are being sold in a complete package here. Connecting them, we use them as a source of light for the family, for watching TV, and for charging our mobile devices.

Today I was a bit surprised to see the solar fan connected to the solar battery on the wall working perfectly to ventilate the house.
It was only recently that I saw a solar blender that could cut out fruits and grind vegetables in one of my aunts houses.
Gradually, we are beginning to have all of our home devices working with energy powered by the sun. And from the look of things, the prices of these gadgets are becoming more affordable with increased availability in the market, and some families are now able to purchase them.

The positive impact of solar systems on our power supply challenges

Every invention always has its own initial imperfection and trailing face. That was the reason some have purchased some solar systems in the past, where they had to constantly subscribe or pay instalments for them. Some of those devices often had faults where you had to call the company to continually fix some issues.

Different battery arrangements are now available to save on the quantity and capacity of energy one needs. The larger your number of solar batteries and panels, the greater the quantity of energy you generate to power up the devices in your home.

From various scripts, and in some homes here already, spending an average sum of $11 million is enough to install a system that can power up the house and the majority of the devices in the home. Some hospital systems here now run on solar. I was equally surprised to see a solar system that can power up a refrigerator used for storing vaccines in that same local government hospital. If we have working solar systems that can power up even heavy devices like refrigerators, then the solution to our power supply challenges has just gotten to a new height of success.

For years now, Nigeria has experienced an epileptic power supply with highly expensive tariff rates. The tarrifs rates have also just been increased, such that I have now only purchased 13 units of light for $0.75 per 1,000 naira, which has often been 3 times less than what I had paid here. For those using this meter system, it is only fair enough that we only recharge and pay for the light used, but 95% of the communities in Nigeria do not have access to this meter, hence their electricity bill is paid based on estimated rates.

Family pay ranges from $3–$12/4k–$20k depending on the size of the family and the gadgets used in the house, whether there is a power supply or not.

Personal Experience with Power Supply

Being able to stay active and engage online requires that most Nigerians have an additional power bank to work with their devices. We charge our phones and still store some energy with power banks since the next supply of electricity is not often guaranteed. A lot of these power banks have been bought and are still in high demand in the country.

Recently, I had the privilege of being gifted this 46200mAh power bank by a friend here, which has been serving me. Sometimes there would be a blackout for a period of a week, but I was still able to come online and access my #hive, and that has aided my activities here. Some of my friends and neighbors have equally benefited from this power bank.

With the abundant supply of sunshine in Nigeria, we have been able to afford even the smallest solar system to charge our phones and light up the house, which is a lasting solution to power challenges. Moreover, families that are able to save up and install larger panels and batteries will forever forget about the power supply problems in the country. Sooner than later, I hope that the power company will not be pushed into low patronage as everyone is moving to seek lower-cost power supplies that are effective and always available.
