I think my best past memories were from when I was a kid. I grew up in the most dramatic family. My siblings and I were so problematic and got into lots of trouble. I’m sure if they made a movie out of our lives, it would be a bang. So, I’ll be sharing a few of the funniest events in my life as a kid.
I’ll never forget the day we put our baby sister in the fridge. She was crying a lot and we kinda thought she was feeling hot cos she was actually sweating, so we decided to put her somewhere cold. Thank God my mum entered the house a few minutes later to save her.
I'll never forget how I went about telling everyone my sister was adopted and she wasn't a part of our family simply because she won’t let me wear her socks to church. My mum heard about it when this over sabi neighbor asked her about it. She didn't even need to be told to know I was the only one who could say something like that. She gave me pen and paper and made me write “my sister was not adopted” till the pages were filled up.
I'll never forget the day I “ran” away from home. I kinda received a beating that wasn't meant for me and I started thinking nobody loves me and decided to run away. I packed a few of my things only to get distracted when I saw my neighbor’s kids playing. I forgot my “mission”, dropped my bag in the middle of the compound and started playing with them till it was very late. I sha received another beating and then told myself I was definitely going to run away the next morning but then I overslept😂
I'll never forget the day I mistakenly drank kero thinking it was water. I was so scared I was going to die that I told my sister. She suggested we also give it to all the kids we hated so I won't be the only one to die. That was how we went about convincing the other kids to drink “wine that my uncle brought from abroad”😂 One of the kid’s mum found out and reported us to my parents. I can't really remember how we were punished but I remember telling my sister I was never speaking to her again cos she was the one that puts me in trouble.
I'll never forget how my sisters and I hid drugs under our beds instead of taking them. And we hated all the other kids who chew drugs cos our parents usually used them as examples. We started telling them that they were gonna have stunted growths and won’t be tall like us because they chewed their drugs. When my parents found out, they collected all the money we ever saved as payment for their money we wasted.
