NIGERIA : Growth, Development and Sustainability.

This is my entry for the hive naija week 41 prompt;

The truth remains that with each changing generation the way of life changes as well. Looking at when i was still a toddler compared to this very moment a lot has changed in our community, city and country as a whole and will keep changing.

A lot has happened in the past few years which has in one way or the other affected us the citizens, members and masses either in a positive or negative way. In the process of restoring our lost power or strength we all have to work together and hope for a better future.

In the struggle to making my community, city and country better I take my education seriously. The truth still remains that illiteracy is a major problem in our country that we are failing to understand .A famous Russian adage goes “it is easy to turn fish into fish soup, less easy to turn fish soup back into fish. This Russian adage best describes Nigerian’s current Economical, social and political state, it is a notorious fact that the fabrics of the Nigerian nation is currently so badly fragmented, that putting it back on the right path is as complex as trying to turn fish soup back to fish. With unprecedented levels of poverty, insecurity, economic instability, impoverishment, energy poverty, environmental degradation and lamentable standard of living across the width and breath of the country, the founding visions of Nigeria have been badly mutilated, defaced, and chipped away.
Education is a crucial sector in any nation. Being a major investment in human capital development, it plays a crucial role in long-term productivity and growth at both micro and macro level. This explains why the state of education in Nigeria continues to be our national discourse at all levels. Consequently, the implication of the declining quality of education at All levels has far reaching negative impact on a nation’s moral, civic, cultural and economic sustainability.Samelia and Murtala (2010:254) state that something urgent has to be done in the educational sector since “illiterates” are leading Nigerians. But the problem with Nigeria is that there is no difference between an educated President and no so enlightened ones in terms of their leadership. Education has contributed immensely to National Development, and this contributions are; provision of the needed manpower for national development. Afolabi and Loto (2012:330) support this argument by stating that a developed or educated policy is the one that has enough manpower and each person occupies his or her rightful position to enhance the growth of the society. Education is largely perceived in Nigeria as an indispensable tool which will not only assist in meeting the nation’s social, political, moral, cultural and economic aspirations but will also inculcate in the individual knowledge , skill, dexterity, character and desirable values that will foster national development and self-actualisation, from the definition of education, it is clear that education trains an individual to be useful in the society and to meet up the need of the society for national development. Therefore, it should be clear that without education, a nation cannot get the needed manpower for material advancement and enlightenment of the citizenry.
So yes i am trying my very best to take my education seriously so as to be useful in the society and to meet up the need of the society for national development.

Another thing i engage in is Agriculture
I take part in planting foodstuff and food crops such as cassava, cucumber, plantain, maize, pepper, yam etc. currently this period was very hectic for me because i have been engaged in the farming activities which we pray for a fruitful yield.

I am also and affiliate marketer. I deal on thrift wears and also create platform for persons to partake just so as to make a daily living for themselves .

And definetly My country would be better someday soon
THERE'S HOPE.

Thank you for reading❤️❤️

Sort:

Agriculture sector had proven over time to be a growth factor for our country, getting involved in that is definitely a good cause for the country.

Keep doing what you can do, we remain hopeful.

Yes dear
As far as there is life there is hope

If only more Nigerians will engage in agriculture, then the country will no longer complain of unbearable hunger.

Glad you choose these parts and it's working out fine.

Thanks dear

Welcome 🙂
