The land of potentials

Greetings!

One of the blessed countries in the world is my beloved country, Nigeria. Although I have not moved out of the shore of Nigeria, with what I have seen in Nigeria here and what I have heard about other countries of the world, then Nigeria is in no way comparable to these countries.

Nigeria, my beloved country, is a country blessed with both natural and human resources that if tapped into, the country would not not in any way be at the same level with those developed countries we are envying, but surpassed them on all fronts.

However, it's a shame and a slap on our face that corruption has taken over our land and all these resources both human and natural are only lying waste without being properly tapped into or better still being mismanaged by those at the helm of affairs.

Now, the land filled with milk and honey has been milked dry by greedy leaders and now everything has gone into comatose. Most of the state assets have been left unattended to and these are the labour of our heroes past, may God save our land from destruction.

Also, what was supposed to be a blessing in the form of crude oil has now become a curse to us in the country as instead of us enjoying it, we are now suffering from the presence of the crude oil in the south south part of the country.

Aside from this, most of the communities in that part of the country are now suffering and they have been neglected by the government. They have complained and complained but not concrete has been done to ease their suffering. What concrete?

As if that's not enough, the most annoying thing is that since the discovery of crude oil, our main source of income which the country was known for in the past was abandoned.

Our agricultural sector which once used to be the pride of the country had been left in comatose, thank God for those few people who have summoned courage to go against the security challenges of the country which is another problem of the country to go to their farms. Those are the ones that have been keeping us alive from the grip of hunger.

All the above are just natural resources. What of the human resources? Due to the maladministration of our leaders in the country, I can boldly say that we have lost the best hands and brains to other countries of the world and the funny thing is that our leaders didn't see anything wrong in this.

Well, one thing I believe in is that, Nigeria is a beloved country of Almighty God and I'm very sure that God will not forsake us and the once great Nigeria and giant of Africa would one day be revived and claimed it rightful place and those things such as politics, religion and tribe that has dividing us over the years would lose their grip and dominion over us and we will once again be freed from internal colonization.

Thanks for reading.
