Are ya'll tired of the updates yet?
Well, here they are anyway
I noticed a lot of TV Show and Movie posters were old from back when we didn't have proper fetching to sources that provided them, there were like 500 missing and many of them only had a "logo" of the name which was quite ugly rather than using posters. So I decided to rebuild all the missing ones which turned out quite alright.
(Still a few logo's left, primiarily from movies, but I have a process running on over night to try swap them out for posters as long as it can find them, will be updated in the morning as it's slow to avoid over requesting)
After that it felt like some sections of the movie and TV show posters felt a bit empty, even with the description in them (if we can fetch it), when there was a lot of activity on the right side it kind of overshadowed the content itself so I checked with Claude if we could make unique "abstract" and blurry backgrounds behind the poster and desecription to make the site a bit more colorful, as you may have noticed by now which we're all about with all the colors that usually hit your eyes on there.
Basically this is what it looked like before and after:
It simply uses the color palette of the poster to generate a backdrop, also increased the brightness of the text slightly so it wouldn't be a strain to read.
My process of picking text brightness over some backdrops that are the brightest possible; I went with in between text 2 and 3:
I'm not entirely sure about the fade yet, it leaves some "curves" looking a bit odd but I think it may work for now, it's probably a small change later if it bugs too many.
The background of reviews under the /watch pages was a bit too bright and gray and ugh and I'm not really sure why I had left it that way from way earlier, so that had to change as well to what "quick takes" already was showing.

Anime was also a mess before and works much better now in terms of posters, although some may be using their original japanese posters.
Avatar borders now hidden from default view, these come from subscriptions to scrobble.life and had been left and forgotten on the profile page, @erikah pointed it out and it got collapsed now, but looking at it again, it should probably share a space with achievements rather than have its own line, I'll get to that in the morning as it's getting quite late here.
A few more "design" or look changes here and there as well as mobile optimization, feel free to test the site out and let me know if something stands out or feels wrong, both desktop and mobile.
Anyway, things are starting to look proper. We hit a milestone of 250 google search clicks this last month but not too much activity on guest accounts (gmail + discord), there is however a large activity coming in from outside readers as it recently overtook hive readers by 50% (3000-2000), so that's quite exciting!
Let's see where things go from here!
Hey! Just checked out the site for the first time and it looks solid! Great to see you have been active creating yet another app that connects us.
Fighting for hive time during a busy summer but I will have to check back and see the benefit (besides connecting more people to Hive through music and shows) and support!

Very good performances, I really like the blurred and colorful backgrounds. As for the way those backgrounds look, it may be because you're basing them on the same covers that you get that way. For that, you could try using covers that are not so long but wider, sized to the page (desktop version), or configure the background image to fill the entire page instead of being centered. In other words, widen the background image so that it occupies the entire background from edge to edge.
I'm still waiting for the next updates to see if there's anything I like that will encourage me to keep using the website.

Blurry backgrounds look definitely better than before, it's a style i like... Reddit could be good to bring some traffic from scrobble.life links expecially movies and such

which is very exciting This shows that there are people outside of Hive looking for reviews, news, and entertainment about movies, TV shows, or music, regardless of whether the platform uses blockchain or not. This is excellent news and a reason to keep going. We are on the right track
