I remember this movie. Foxx is great. Cruise, as you say, is Cruise, though even more so in this movie. In a way he reminds me of Swarzenegger in his early films: A robot-like role that doesn't demand acting ability. The actor has to go through the motions with wooden effect and that works fine.

I think the best movie I ever saw Cruise in was Risky Business. That was a long time ago and he fit the role of naive student very well.

The best performance I ever saw from Foxx was in Ray, when he plays Ray Charles. Now that was memorable.

This says it all and describes it perfectly.

For me, there's one Tom Cruise movie that is special and that is Top Gun. I know, so many are going to say it's cheesy, but Cruise was at the beginning of his career, very young and didn't have that God complex or whatever you call the person he has become.

I need to check those movies you mentioned.

Ray is just amazing. Of course I grew up listening to Ray Charles music in the 50s. The movie was a revelation to me.

I think Jason Statham is extremely talented at playing Jason Statham in all of his movies haha 😅😅

Oh wow, what a trio of actors haha! I didn't know they had worked together. I'm not really a big fan of Jamie Foxx's performances, although he has made me laugh with several sketches on In Living Color haha, and movie-wise, he made a good duo with Cameron Diaz 🙂🙂

I think it's to make him look older. Back then he was young; in fact, by now Tom is a senior citizen and they'd still have to put that same suit on him to make him look old because he still looks so young hahaha 😅😅

Interesting take, but I have to disagree 😜 He doesn't look young, they just make him look young and because he's playing in action movies, it gives you the feeling that he's still a superhero. I think he's going to play in these movies even at 80, as he's the worst ego maniac 😀

It’s quite an old film and it rings a bell, but I’m not sure I’ve actually seen it… unless, like so many others, I don’t remember it because it left no significant impression on me. Not even Tom Cruise’s grey hair. And it seems Statham’s appearance was a nod to The Transporter.
I’ll put it on my list to see if, by watching it, I remember that I’ve already seen it. Haha.

Yeah, Netflix has the habit of showing older movies too and even though a lot of them look outdated now, especially when it comes to technology, those are different and so many times better quality than what is made these days.

Give it a try if you have the opportunity.

For people who are fun of tom Cruise they dont care how he looks like and what character he has.. as long it is tom Cruise there idol.. i like some of tom cruise move but i never watched this one yet.. i wil watch this .. because i got curious of your review..😊
