Kanilingrad, the Russian Trojan Horse

On the coast of the Baltic Sea, the only one that does not freeze in winter, is Kaliningrad, an enclave of more than 15 thousand kilometers and more than half a million inhabitants, with beautiful landscapes and a good tourist industry.

It was part of East Prussia and ended up being after the Second World War territory of the former Soviet Union, despite being currently 5 km from it, since its territory is between Poland and Lithuania, the latter former Soviet republic until its disintegration.

It is a strategic enclave for the Russians since it is in the territory of the European Union, in addition to possessing a modern naval fleet that in case of confrontation will be able to confront the neighboring states directly.

Taking into account that both Lithuania and Poland are neighbors of Belarus, an unconditional ally of the Russian Federation, in the event of a war they would be easy targets, as would Sweden, which is on the other side of the Baltic.

Yesterday the Polish Prime Minister declared that they would create a perimeter security system on the border of this enclave, while Lithuania assures that the Soviets possess nuclear weapons in the territory, something that would make it easy for them to activate against their neighbors.

The sanctions against the Russian Federation for the confrontation against Ukraine have fueled the danger of these two countries becoming direct targets, both for the Soviets and Belarus, taking into account that nuclear weapons are already deployed in both places.

For NATO and the European Union the situation is not simple, since both Kanilingrad and Transnistria, located on the border with Ukraine and Moldavia, have Russian troops and the inhabitants of these regions are all Russian speakers willing to die to defend the motherland.

There are also Russian supporters in the nations that were formerly part of the Soviet Union and are now independent, so in a NATO vs. Russia confrontation, all Eastern European countries would be easy targets for the Soviets.

Kanilingrad is undoubtedly a Trojan Horse that could make everything easier for the Soviets and perhaps the right place to start a nuclear war that would end up destroying the planet.
