Mining Lithium, Cobalt… is some very ugly and pollution filled activities.
Its done in 3rd world countries by men and boys, because doing it in a 1st world country would never be allowed. (Yes, only some mines. Others have machinery, as required by international law to avoid child labor)
Then those materials are shipped to China for assembly. Again, a lot of pollution.
By the time it gets into a Tesla, the battery has been around the world.
