Fake news is everywhere and nowhere is this more evident than it is in news aggregates for the ultra lazy who cannot be asked to do so much as actually go out there and find their own news. I subscribe to a couple of such things but not to be informed. I do it so that I can stay on top of the absolutely absurd tactics that various publications use in order to keep people dumb and angry. A dumb and angry populace is easy to control, easy to rally, easy to influence, and even easier to mislead.
I present to you, one of nuttiest pieces of conservative propaganda I have seen in 2025.

So what can you take away from that headline? Has Arnie come out and opposed Newsom? Has he decided to run against him in some sort of competition to become the "Governator" again? Is Arnold, a conservative (sort of) going to throw support behind conservatives in the state of California?
Well, not exactly, but that is what Conservative Brief wants their idiotic viewers to believe because they know that most of them are not even going to read the article.
What is really going on here is that Arnold, and I think rightfully, has been critical of Newsom's proposed plan to redistrict California in what many people call gerrymandering so that the state can add more Democrat-controlled seats to the US House of Representatives. According to Newsome and others on the left, this is in response to Texas, Missouri, Indiana and other traditionally conservative states apparently doing the same thing.
I am not going to pretend to know what is going on here in these states because I don't stay on top of these sorts of things. Politics are corrupt AF and this is not news.
For the most part I am just interested in identifying fake news, especially when it comes from the hands of a "news organization" like Conservative Brief that claims to be fighting exactly what they are: Fake news.

The headline, as well as most of the article itself, attempts to paint Arnold as being an enemy to Gavin Newsom when in reality the opposite is actually the case. Newsom and Arnold are in lockstep with most things and I think that Arnold disagreeing with Newsom about the redistricting is something that that the two of them talked about before Arnold ever went public with his opinion, which I question is even real.
What is really going on here is that Arnold is contesting the notion that Newsom brought up about the redistricting measures being "temporary" and Arnold correctly opined that when government says something is temporary, more often than not that is just to sell you the idea, then they make it permanent when nobody is paying attention anymore.

Arnold still has some level of credibility left and I think that his PR team worked with Newsom's in order to create a fake controversy between the two in order to simply draw more attention to the matter and get people worked up about this initiative only to draw more attention to it. You know what they say: There's no such thing as bad publicity!
In case you care to look it up, and I strongly encourage you not to be, the legislature in question is called "Proposition 50" and is on the State of California's ballot next month.
These non-presidential elections generally have a poor turnout so I believe that the entire reason why this story, and Arnold's involvement in it, is being focused on by the media on both sides of the aisle, is an attempt to get people all worked up about it...to the point where they actually go and vote during a non presidential election year.
Conservative Brief is an absolutely trash organization that shouldn't even be considered news. All of their headlines have catchphrases in them such as "no one saw this coming!" or "he/she is done!" When in reality people did see this coming because it was planned and virtually none of the people that they say are "done" are anywhere near done.
If you are reading Conservative Brief I hope you do it for entertainment purposes only and don't take anything that they say to heart. Anyone that does take what they have seriously is willfully putting their heads in the sand and will remain ignorant of what is really going on in the world of politics.
And I, for one, believe that this is all being done intentionally.
All I know is politics is far dirtier than I thought and those in power are serious scum bags with the manipulation of trying to get more seats through illegal means. I just wish people who cared about the country and people were leading the country as it seems like they have lost their way.
