#2 WTF is the Third Eye?
There are many teachings out there that speak of a third eye, and perhaps even more about how one learns to see through it. Some say you have to align your "chakras" while others say you must eat a specific diet in order to decalicify the pineal gland.
The truth of this mysterious third eye, however, is hidden in all-too-plain sight within the very words we use to describe it.
Words are arrows. Arrows that point to ideas. But they can also point to sounds, which can again be arrows, pointing to more ideas. In this case of the word "eye," this is an arrow that points to a sound. A sound which is indistinguishable from the sound pointed at by a different arrow - the word "I."
So when you hear someone say "the third eye," you may think of an eye. But that is not what was said. Not necessarily. And I am suggesting to you now that the third eye, is actually, the third I.
That is to say that the third eye, is actually a third person perspective of "I", as in you. If you believe yourself to be your body, or even your thoughts, then you have a first person perspective of "I." But if you do not make the mistake of conflating you with that which you carry with you on your journey; if you take a withdrawn perspective that allows you to see very clearly the separation between you and your body and your thoughts, then you have a third-person perspective of "I" and you are now viewing the world through the third eye.
It is quite similar indeed to how in a first person shooter, you are able to see only what the eyes of the character is able to see. But in a third person shooter, you have a greater field of perception, and can see very clearly that you are not the vessel itself but the pilot in control of it. Just as when viewing the world through the third eye, or from a third person perspective of yourself, you can perceive far more than what your eyes may be observing at any given moment.
This, is what the third eye really is, and while it is not simple to accomplish this, and requires immense amounts of self discipline, I am quite sure you'll have a far greater chance of "seeing through your third eye" by understanding this, rather than by eating certain foods and hoping that at some point you will suddenly gain the ability to elevate your perception beyond the physical.
