Last Friday, a terrorist attack rocked the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Moscow, leaving a trail of violence and chaos in its wake.

According to statements by the head of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB), Alexander Bortnikov, the Ukrainian authorities were ready to welcome the perpetrators of the attack as "heroes".

Bortnikov said that, according to preliminary operational information, the terrorists intended to flee abroad, namely to the territory of Ukraine, where they were expected.

In addition, the FSB chief said that Kiev was training terrorists in the Middle East, but also pointed to the United States and the United Kingdom as responsible for the attack.

The senior Russian official suggested that the attack was aimed at Western and Ukrainian security services influencing the situation in Russia and "sowing panic in society".

This direct accusation against the West and Ukraine has generated additional tensions in an already complicated context.

Bornikov's accusations have provoked a wave of reactions both in Russia and internationally.

While Moscow has reinforced the narrative of an alleged Western conspiracy against the country, the West and Ukraine have dismissed these accusations as unfounded and demanded hard evidence.
